Popped and poured. After pouring, the nose was of St. Albray cheese, that is a strong mildewy, wet basement aroma. Over time it showed hints of pie crust, asparagus, and green apple. The palate had similar notes as the aroma, but more toward the asparagus and green apple. For this price, pass.

($40) The nose is dominated by toffee and toasted French oak aromas, with a hint of charcoal minerals. The palate is lush and round with a pleasant sweetness to the tropical pear fruit. Pretty nice.

(Tasted at Mistral) Lots of high, toasty notes dominate the nose, bit over time some bright fruit peeks through. On the palate this is classic CA-Chardonnay, very supple, toasty and buttery, very soft. It stands up pretty well with food and has nice acid, but lately I would just much rather have a Riesing in nearly any situation unless the food demands oaky Chard...

Honeymoon in the Wine Country: Almonds, minerals, smoke. Mona thinks baby food. Spicy with good concentration and acid. Nutty. Big boy Chard. Not my taste perhaps.
