10th of 12, decanted 30 minutes, perfect level, cork quarter stained, step up again on improved bottle in December 21, browning on rim, but tannins now largely tamed and resolved showing some velvet on palate, fine complexity and drive still, attractive and authentic sauvage edge to the flavours (almost the antithesis of Giacosa Falletto 2000 of a few weeks ago), upside yet, 15+ years. F+ (18)......and just shows how long it takes these Barolos to show properly!

9th of 12, opened an hour then decanted 90 minutes, perfect cork and level, best showing to date, particularly attractive and nuanced bouquet, palate better balanced and fresher, if more austere, than same night's Scavino Fiasc 2000 which showed more velvet and maturer, upside, no rush. F+ (18).

8th of 12, opened 80 minutes, perfect level, half travelled cork, browner and richer than last bottle noted in 2017, nicer and fully mature flavours, even dried rose, fine length, persistence and concentration, probably at peak, just a bit too rustic for better than F (17.5).

7th of 12, pnp, perfect cork and level, as my last note if showing more development on rim and perhaps more nuance, should be ok for at least 5 years. VGI (17).

6th of 12, perfect cork and level, decanted 45 minutes, previous notes very good to fine - deep dusty red, browning rim; plum, cherry, earth, dust, liquorice, leather and tar bouquet; fullish, decent length, slightly burly but nice fruit if a bit dusty, fully ready, not up to Einaudi Cannubi on same night. Very good indeed (17/20).

fair nose, great drop to drink. better than expected. really enjoyed it.

corked. still had some flavor, but clearly corked and lost its power.
