Suavia, Soave, Classico Monte Carbonare

Mid honey colour , no green tints. Quite a rich palate but very simple and straightforward. Ok nothing special. Drink up.

Crisp and delicious, aging very gracefully. Paired incredibly well with garlicky shrimp scampi.

Appearance: not too light, first sign of ageing, Nose: citrus, white fruits, peach Taste: minerals (volcanic soils), pear apple, honey, Great wine for the summer!

Similar notes to the last bottle, but even better. I believe this wine has at least three more years of top form and maybe more. Great acidity and stone elements. Complex and long finish.

A little more plush, almost sweet, than I remember. Maybe time to seek out a new soave.

Garganega 100, straw yellow with golden reflections, on the nose scents of white flowers, citrus fruits, green apple, tropical fruit, honey, flint. Savory and more than fresh on the palate, it is an elegant and balanced wine with good persistence. Excellent

A sophisticated crowd-pleaser. Immaculately balanced and interesting, but with a bright core of fruit that is front and center. There’s so much in here in perfect harmony that I think any drinker will pick out something they like. For me, I get both citrus (lemon and grapefruit) and green apple, joined with some honey and floral qualities peeking out. Somewhat plush, but it has just enough acid for all of it to hang together.

Drink now or hold for 10 years plus. Lovely example of non-fruit driven Italian/Soave wine - really well done.

This wine is really good. Eye opening. It has a solid backbone of citrus and stone and ample flesh of mango and peach, with honey overtones. There is a subtle smokiness. It tastes ever so lightly spritzy; maybe it’s my imagination, but no doubt it’s lively. The finish is so long. Great wine. Maybe I’m underrating it at 93.

Agree completely with Slye’s review below. This is lovely, and a great mix of bright fruit and acidity and just enough flinty, mineral structure to round it out into something balanced and highly enjoyable.

This is such a beautiful, well-balanced white. I wish I had more of it. Nice layers of fruit, but with a solid backbone and some weight to it. Everything is knitted together into a wine that “just works” rather than seeming deliberately crafted.

Not a fan of Italian whites but this is really nice and balanced, decent complexity too. This is fruity, flowery with some sea shell and ice bonbon aromas. Medium bodied but with phenolics, earthy and herbal notes. Feels as it has a touch of RS. A crowd pleaser that will intrigue the connoisseur as well.

The wine looks yellow colored. The legs are medium. There is no sediment in the bottle. It smells like lemon, grapefruit, pear, melon, honeydew and honeysuckle. It tastes like pear, honeysuckle, lemon and orange. The body is light/medium. The wine has satin-like texture. The wine finishes medium. The wine has high acidity. Great representation of Soave Classico, wonderful with fish, or pasta with seafood.

Captures what I like about Soave; it has substance, depth and balance, and offers a very nice alternative to Burgundy or California Chardonnay. This one is fruit-forward, but really sophisticated and interesting.

Pear. Doyenne du Comice pear. That is the dominating aroma and flavour. Specifically the type of pear that you have bought more than 2 weeks ago and was left untouched and ripening in the fruit basket on the kitchen cabinet and is starting to show a couple of unhealthy brown spots. Light golden color in the glass with mild aromas of citrus and tropical fruits. On the palate, medium mouthfeel, but a bit disappointing that tasting flavor notes do not come through to mirror the wine’s aromas.

Bright, light-gold color. Aromas of frosted orange & lemon zest, white peach, slate, chamomile & honeysuckle, hints of nutmeg. Bright and racy citrus on the palate, perfectly ripe and fresh, with more subtle secondary depth highlighting wet stone, rose hip and white pepper. Medium bodied and roundly textured, with edgy acid, finishing with dry mouthwatering length. Really nice. Excellent with bucatini all’amatriciana.
