In my experience this Barbour Cabs are built for the long haul and after 18 years has presence. The 2007 vintage is still vibrant and alive showing a deep reddish-purple color and a floral nose. It’s a graceful, elegant, medium-to-full-bodied wine with nice dark berry and cherry notes. It's drinking well right now. 92+/93 points. A decant might help, but honestly, why wait? This wine is in a good place.

Terrific red recommended by the som at Guard & Grace, Houston. Big, dark berries on palate with silky tannins.

Score would be higher if the finish was longer. Lovely wine otherwise, and still tastes fresh.

Great nose decanted and lots of cedar berries some vanilla. Went well with scallops and shiitake mushrooms did not overwhelm. Tannins soft. Drink now

Pop and pour. Very nice St Helena Cab drinking at peak with supple tannins, intense blackcurrant, light acid, and notes of coffee and scorched earth.

Last tasted in April 2013- this needs about an hour in the glass. Still quite primary and fruit forward. Nice balance with a silky finish. I got the impression that although tasting young this will not improve and will slowly fade out of balance but what do I know. This should last for a decade but I think it’s best showings will be over the next couple of years.

Did not show well. Dark napa fruit was present but not strong, got notes of black olive and brine. Damaged? Will not score.

Spectacular wine. Dark ruby color, nice and viscous in the glass. Dark fruit, smoky meat, blackberries on the nose. Smooth and long finish. Outstanding mouthful. Great with a steak.

Opened it and let it breathe in the bottle for about 4 hours before I began to drink it. Being opened for that long really helped the wine open up. It was the best Barbour I have had yet. The nose was wonderful and very expressive. It was very smooth, lots of fruit on the mid-palate and at least a 60 second finish. The wine still has plenty of life left.

Decanted it for about 2.5 hours and then consumed it over the next 3 hours. The wine is drinking very well now and recommend trying a bottle if you have a few of them left. The wine is still dark in color. Great expressive nose. It has a very unique flavor on the mid-palate. The finish is nice and long.

Decanted for an hour. Opened up very nicely. Enjoyed with a Bison pasta dish and wine was perfect with nice long finish. The wine looks ruby colored. The legs are medium. There is no sediment in the bottle. The body is medium/full. The wine has smooth texture. The wine finishes long. The wine has medium acidity.

This is a very good cabernet. Dark red in color with a nice nose. Complex fruit that created a melody in my mouth. Good finish.

90.3 points. Very good cab considering the vintage (06 gets a bad rap, but if you have tried some of those wines lately, they are actually coming around). Good fruit, but not as good as the 2005 vintage. Smooth but lite and modest extraction. Despite the negatives, we all enjoyed this 1.5L bottle.

Disappointing. Lots of oak and dark fruit on the nose and palate. Minimal acid and tannin...out of balance.

Beautiful napa cab - on the jammier/fruitier side, but the 2006 shows better structure than other Barbours and proper acidic balance - soft but not flabby.

2.5 hour decant- medium plus bodied, good balance, no heat, medium finish. Went well with spaghetti and meatballs. Average value. Plenty of life left and starting to reach prime.

This is deep in color. On the nose, this shows cherries, plums, dark fruits, oak, cedar and violets. This is a full bodied wine on the palate, there is fairly good concentration and a lot of rich fruit here. This is a modern style, but it has good balance, nice tannins, and good acidity. The finish is fairly long.

90 minute decant, drank w/ short ribs and polenta at Bistro Central Parc. This had the characteristic rich dark fruits with hints of chocolate that I associate with these barbour cabs. Smooth, opulent, no hint of alcohol. If anything, slightly more acidic than older vintages - could benefit from a little more aging.

This wine continues to improve, and I expect it to continue to evolve over the next 3-5 years or so. Big, dense, dark fruit, with a big backdrop of oak & tannin, it's a serious wine. Stands out even amongst "brand name" wines in the $100 price range. Excellent.

Consistent with past tasting notes. Pop and pour, no decant. This wine is deep and rich in dark fruits, caramel and has a beautiful chocolate/mocha/coffee secondary note. Great intensity and depth of flavor. Medium body with luxurious mouth feel, perfectly balanced acidity, very smooth and definitely in its drinking window. Paired nicely with a steak but is just as good consumed on its own. FWIW, just had the 2008 O'Shaughnessy Howell Mt. the night before and this is the clear …

Tasted out of barrel and again just after bottling....This wine is fantastic! Jim's best effort to date and one he should be proud of. Softer than the mega-monsters, but big enough to know it's Napa! Enjoy for the next decade.

(A) Loved this wine. After about 30 minutes of air, everything married together. Nuanced aromas with barrel room, red fruits, and spice. Very bold. Flavors of oak, vanilla, and chocolate. Very St. Helena-esque. A bit of floral elements on the side palate. Unmistakably silky texture. Finished strong. Likely more integration to come with time, but delicious now.

Awesome! This wine is a great illustration of how many different styles there are in California Cabernet today (despite the naysaying by old fogies who don't like anything made in Napa after 1979). Alcohol is in the 14s, but this has a graceful and athletic mouthfeel more like a Burgundy than a bruiser. Taste profile is focused and refined, with nutmeg, a touch of honey, and blueberry (and a hint of that sea saltiness that I find to be a …
