6 years too old. Drink earlier - stunning 2-5 years old.

A bit of reductive struck match on the nose, but underneath lots of grapefruit and slightly underripe white peach. Still light to mid weight palate in a Chablis style, white peach, minerally and nice fresh acidity. Well put together chardonnay with real finesse, though in the end May lacking in real, fruit depth, but for the price, a real bargain

smoked bacon fat, toasted peach and orange. Juicy, struck match to the fore on the palate, textured burr, fruit struggles a bit but shows as per the nose. Time?

We thought that this Chardonnay was good for a weekday meal. Nothing really stood out with it, either good or bad.

This is a good everyday, inexpensive chardonnay with medium body.

Leaner racier style with little give on the nose. Melon and almond meal. Lovely balanced Chardonnay. Great texture and length.

Bright, fresh, and fruit-forward Australian Chardonnay with a dry finish, this was a bargain on sale at Lidl. I’m glad I bought three bottles.

Lovely. A little struck match on nose. Melon, ripe citrus / lemon sherbet, nuts, flinty minerality. The slightest tad blowsy on warming. Copious length and delightful chalk dust grip argues for perhaps higher points.

Some felt tipped pens and oak on the palate overrides what I thought was fairly faint golden delicious apple lacking sweetness. I won't buy again but the price is fair. If you want to spend AU$30+ then try Nocturnes SR Chardonnay instead. Rated 85: Good. (But closer to average).

White flowers, sautéed apple, peach, lemon butter, stone fruits, oats. Cleansing acid spine and ample length. Wish I’d bought more, sooo good.

Scores highly because for its price tag it punches way above its weight. Should really be in the 30s as the user below said. Not super super complex but deserves a $30 price rather than mid 20s. Nice little struck match flavour.

Smells and tastes like a $35 plus Chardonnay. If you are looking for a wine that strikes a beautiful balance between the older buttery oak driven style and the fresher more recent style with a long acid spine to support the rich fruit then this is a go to wine. Great to drink right now.

Bright clear light lemon yellow. Looks youthful! Inviting nose of ripe green melon a touch of rockmelon and hints of white flowers. More melon and white peach on the palate and gorgeous mouthfeel. Finishes long and satisfying. Complex and completely inviting the next sip. Bravo!

Bouquet of tropical fruit and citrus. The taste is clean and fruity, and a hint of vanilla. But a simple, a bit flat, cheap and superficial wine that does not give anything exciting back. Drink it happily in a sushi bar, but not for the special occasions.

Nice citrus notes are the driving force here, with some stone fruit and a hint of tropical fruit rounding it out. Hint of wood. Plusher than I expected on the palate, which was round with a bit of fat. Cut with some good, minerally acids though. A little funky, in a good way. For < 20 bones, an excellent QPR.

Drinking well for price and age. Good balance of fruit and acid, length on finish. Not much butterscotch or oak at this stage but a few years collaring should change that.

Nuts, citrus, stone fruit. Pineapple if you let it warm too much... though if that's a good thing for you, I guess you wouldn't think that you had let it warm too much. Big, or round, or something like that. Not quite in harmony, maybe it’ll get there given more time in bottle. Impressive length gets this over the line to 90. Usually these Hoddles chardonnays drink well young, but they're even better with a few years sleep.... I'll revisit …

Generic spicy oak and lime nose. Intense nectarine, lime rind and nutmeg flavours. A bit round. Lacking acid? Oak well integrated on palate. Maybe I need to taste this in a vertical, but seems to lack the edge of the other recent (remarkable) vintages. 91-92?

Please not I carbonated this with a soda stream 8 squirts ( might get by with 6 and did not use large sounds recommended by sodastream just regular squirts of carbonation) and be very carefull opening ( must use their plastic bottle and fill their bottle to the line on it . Open very very slowly from the Sodastream Basically making a champagne like carbonated chardonay from a cheap Chardonnay Sodastream probably does not recommend doing this works fine for …

Light straw colour. A little funk on the nose, cashews and nuts. Intensely flavoured, well balanced and improved with each glass. Nice line of citrus through the palate and builds to more explosive and expansive nutty, spicy flavours towards the finish. Long and intense finish. Really good value and wish I had bought more.

Pretty complete for a value priced Chardonnay. Has that creamy rich mouth feel typical of Chardonnay. Rich golden color. Spicy nutmeg nose with lemon zest. Moderately fruity with spiced apple. white pear, nectarine, and lemon across the palate. Has some non fruit secondary flavors on the spicy side like ginger, nut meg, and cashew. Some influence from seasoned oak. Some almost raw Granny Smith Apple acidity. There is a little disappointing bitterness on the finish that affects the score.

Beautiful melons and nectarines on the nose with a delicate streak of oak cutting through the middle. The palette is a mineral explosion with great citrus acidity to back it up and soft and creamy fruits notes starting at the mid palette and going right through to the finish. Very well rounded and balanced.

Very light in colour. Lots of oak on the nose - was expecting stone fruit, but to me seemed like cashews, with a spicy oak element. Nice weight, zingy, oak but well balanced, some pineapple, long spicy finish.

The colour has a lovely mid green hue to go with the light straw colour. The first thing that hits you on the nose is the stone fruit. Plenty of nectarine, white peach and some melon. Then comes the complexity. It has a wonderful creamy elegance to the nose, as well as some sliced almonds and vanilla. It also has an interesting slatines in the background. The palate is like a velvet sledgehammer. Soft but powerful. Soft and restrained oak …
