Castillo de Monjardín Pinot Noir Navarra El Cerezo

9 months in older 500L casks; grown on clay with some limestone Pale ruby/garnet appearance Nose is very varietal, showing decomposed leaf matter, a touch of older oak, cherry and pine (reminds me of Baden Pinot). Attractive fragrance, subtle pepper and incense. The palate is medium-bodied and quite mouth-filling, showing nice oak, some bitter touches, bramble fruits and an attractive savoury thread. Juicy with some light tannin, nicely balanced and fragrant. Good varietal character.
