Muller-Catoir, Gimmeldingen Riesling Kabinett, Pfalz

This is the first Riesling I’ve had with even a little bit of age on it and I was completely blown away. Appearance with a nice vibrant deep golden yellow, nose with citrus, sweet apple, white peach, and that wonderful petrol note. Palate is semi sweet, wonderful tingly acid, minimal EtOH. Yum. Still young, great balance of acidity and sweetness. Traditional Kabinett. Wish I had more.

You can’t go wrong with Muller-Catoir, one of my favorite German producers. A subtle whiff of petrol and apple with a pleasantly sweet palate of apple and lime, balanced with a nice acidity

Pale yellow, clear rim. Fairly classic petrol, almonds and flowers, oily, stones in the background, some tropical highlights. Slightly petillant, some sweetness of course, more citrus than flowers, acidity, a little bready, iron and hoisin sauce near the finish, good length. Very good Kabinett, will age well most likely (another 5 seems reasonable).

Intense fruity nose. Light. Pleasant but simple. Semi sweet. Citrus and citrus peel. High acid. Medium body. Packs a punch.
