Got the chance to give this a try from a friends cellar who forgot this was hidden away. Don't recommend keeping California Pinot Gris around this long. Old, yes, and definitely past it's peak. We didn't pour it out more out of curiousity. Deep golden color. A little smelly. Not dead yet, still some nice mature nectarine and really ripe peach. The acid is surprisingly young. Beechwood finish.

Tasted like a mashup of Chardonnay and Pinot Grigio with the oaky vanilla up front and the lemon zing on the end. It was actually pretty good and complemented our food very well. http://bit.ly/b1XU8D
