Di Majo Norante Biferno Ramitello

Not nearly as good as the 2016 vintage; rather flat by comparison. The brambly notes dominate without the balancing aspects of dark fruit. Lacks structure; finishes short and slightly bitter. We'll see if it has improved by the second day ... ... nope, no improvement, in fact it flattened out even more. Dropped the score by a couple of points, now down in the just "good" range.

Great nose of dark berries, roasted meats, slight dried herbs. round and balanced on the palate with well placed tannin. Some nice earthy and dried leaf elements. This was enjoyable.

This was great. Red, almost candied fruit on the nose, nice balanced feel on the palate. Some decent complexity here as well, like some dried herbs and earthy notes. Great value at $18.
