At Grain & Gristle. I wonder if this is the same wine as below because it was certainly a red. And tannat? Wow. I'd have guessed some unholy combo of a syrah and tempranillo because it's got the deep brambles of the former with a kind of chocolate note of the latter, yet also a kind of pillowly moreish quality of, say, a spatburgunder. Whatever it is it's good, and fascinating by the glass pour.

Blown away to read the other guy's note and realize this was a white made from Tannat. Tannat! Who does that? Well, apparently Barnaby does. Notes from last night: "floral, Estee Lauder perfume, must be gewurz in here, huge body". Not bad, just not for me.

This is awesome. Lots of vibrant acidity, crisp white peached, terragon, bruised red apples. All from Tannat- normally a red, but this was juice pressed off it's skins, so we now have a white. Really interesting, great price point $35.00- and some real skill in the wine making department. Paired with Artichokes and yuzu aioli really well. Went better with the lobster pasta as compared to the Ridge chardonnay I had originally opened.
