Patz & Hall Chardonnay Napa Valley

smörpopcorn, fet smak, oljig, kanske lite over the top men jäkligt god nya världen style Chardonnay, tyckte först att detta var kvällens vin av de 3 vita vi provade men undrade mig efter att ha haft vinet i glaset en stund.

Almost no nose showing, some butter and popcorn/sweet corn & vanilla. The palate is rather dull, displaying some bitterness and fat/oil. Rather insipid, and not a wine in my style.

Fine, very fine nose. Shows the maturity with baked apple pie, blueberry muffins and some herbs. Fat, creamy taste with smooth acid. Like taking a bit from a fresh piece of fruit pie. This wine is really peaking right now. Got this one bottle as a gift, wish by god I had more. This is without doubt one of the best Whites I ever had. Napa valley is really starting to interest me.

Drinking surprisingly well for a wine of this age. All of the Patz & Hall chards I've been trying from this era are in great shape, I wish other California producers would do whatever it is they're doing. Dark golden color, fragrant nose, with only the slightest hints of oxidation giving it a little extra complexity. It's not going to get any better but I'm not going to rush to consume the couple of bottles I have left.
