Great nose with cedar, some pencil shavings and great florals. Palate features dense red cassis, with a nice streak of minerality. Very well balanced, and nice tannic finish.

Notes from day 2. Dark purple to black in color. Nose of prunes, a little black cherry, spice. Palate of a touch of blueberry, dried fruit, lots of wet bark, and a little meat and the tannins are still very evident. The finish is average at best, the wife commented the wine felt thin and I would tend to agree for a bandol. Decent wine right now, but it is very young for a bandol. Hold. 50+5+11+15+7

Bandol Bliss (Weygandt Wines, Cleveland Park, Washington D.C.) : Dark inky color, with lovely floral aromas on the nose. Add to that toasted almonds, warm figs, and a light meatiness. Really elegant Bandol that is in its infancy - put this away for a long time.

Colour: beautiful deep red of young wine. In nose: black berries, liquorice, leather, floristic notes, hints of forest floor and sweet spices. In mouth: powerful, acid, dry, tannic. Dark cherry, black berries, liquorice, long smoky aftertaste with spices and black coffee notes. Ńot well balanced young acid Bandol. Wine has potential to ageing. After 3-4 years rating will 90-92+. Lay to cellar.
