Not my style; big, in your face and bold, heavyweight, finishing very tannic; little to like IMHO; many others thought much more of this in a blind tasting.

Nice, but more simple than I remember/expected.

I couldn't keep my mind -- or my hands -- off Pali. I was going to save this last bottle, age it and cherish it in about a year. No chance. The bright ruby, seductive nose, and luxuriant palate just called to me. I gave in. And I'm thrilled that I did. What a triumph of a Pinot noir!

Wow. That's what I said when I opened this bottle. This has improved incdredibly over the last quarter. Dark indigo, with medium body and super legs. Spectacular aromas of cherry cobbler and strawberry jam from Nimble Hill. Sophisticated palate of summer berry compote mellowed with fine oak and luxuriant tannins. What a treasure.

Beautiful color and aroma and smooth and silky. Looking forward to my two bottles of the 2008 Durell which scored 95 on the Wine Spectator scale.

Bright, light, subtle, but simple. I had high expectations, and those this is quite good, it did not live up to them. Yet. C'est la vin.

Not as impressive as the first bottle. A bit of smokiness.

Surprising stuff. Nice smoky bright cherries on the nose and the palate. The cherries battle in the mouth alternating nicely between sweet and tart. Medium finish has the cherry tastes mingling with a hint of strawberry. Not bad for screw cap.

This Pinot nail fromthe famous Durell Vineyard in the Sonoma coast region. Dark, rie and lsh, with blackberry flavors. Ample oak nuances from 10 months of 50% new French Oak and only 13.6% alcohol! Full-bodied and concentrated. This Durell vineyard fruit is very sought after - the Kistler Durell is almost impossible to get. Very full rich cherries with a deep earthy component. Durell is one of those "things" that Pinotholics seek out. Very limited.

Deep, penetrating and generous, with brilliant fruit representation that bursts with vivid black cherry, plum, wild berry and raspberry pie. This Durell Pinot also boasts cassis, anise and pine on the trail end. This wine has great balance and finesse. Cherry cola comes to mind as all the layers fold in together on a long and terrific finish. This is CA Pinot is noteworthy, and a great example of this varietal.

This is an outstanding pinot noir - medium to full bodied with dark cherry fruit and a long and balanced finish. Really surprising quality

Pop and pour. Garnet in color. Nose of raspberries, black cherries, plum, leather and smoked bacon. Palate is simple with black cherries and spice with a little heat.

Chicago Pinot Days-2009 (Navy Pier, Chicago IL) : nose: big and bold nose of black cherries, dark berries, raspberries, and bits of anise taste: Bold and rich, but balanced full feel with tones of dark spices, raspberries, black cherries, and dark berry tones overall: A real big pinot. It holds the bigness fairly well with real good depth and rich dark tones

Twisted open to have with the bird and all the fixin's. Has some smoky elements at first. Crisp pink grapefruit flavor with raspberries and - what is that I taste? - pomegranate. Yes, pomegranate. The acidity calls for food. Did not stand up well to sipping on its own.
