I've been to the winery a few times and have generally found their whites to be more enticing. This came across as surprisingly firm given almost eight years of age since vintage. I recently had their '07 Black Cougar Ridge cab which was dreamy by comparison. I think this needs more time to show better, though it still feels a little drab and uninviting and am not sure age with fully remedy things.

Decanted for a 2 hours. Easy drinking, dark plums. Not a ton on the rose but fruit forward in the mouth. Almost Merlot like. Tannins still a bit tight. Probably give the next bottle another 3-5 years.

Double decanted. Minimal sediment. On the nose beautiful cassis, leather and subtle spice. Mid full bodied palate done in a more refined manner with dark fruit with vibrant acidity, refined tannin and medium finish with spice. Drinks great right now but probably for not too long, up to 5 more years.

Agree with Old and Grumble. Easy drinking. PnP'd. Wouldn't hold on to these for too long

A big oak beginning that never produced the big dark fruit I was hoping for…quite dry with a little flat fruit…all ending with a short dry finish.

Blackberry, black licorice, sweet black cherries, and espresso notes. The finish is a bit short, and the licorice and espresso notes dominated, which left a slight bitterness that paired well is some food. I enjoyed this bottle more after an hour of decanting.

Black fruit, sour cherry, blueberry, pleasant tannins. Not a large wine, and short aftertaste, but paired well with Greek meatballs and probably other less heavy meats and cheeses. Drank without decanting, would benefit from more opening.

This is surprisingly good and an outstanding value at only ~$50. The fruit is predominantly succulent blackberry and blueberry with a nice assortment of secondary and tertiary flavors adding depth. Savory acidity and grainy tannins carry the core fruit to a juicy finish, with cedar, vanilla, red licorice, cigar smoke, crushed rock and fresh-ground coffee contributing depth. A truly fine example of Alexander Valley Cabernet.

Opened up nice, without decanting, after about a hour. Served with a sliced steak, vege and cheese slices, and warm baguette. Paired wonderfully.

Deep, dark reddish-purple in color; almost opaque. Full, forward & attractive nose of ripe fruit aromas of cherries, blackberries & black currant with overtones of earthy/dusty & floral notes, herbs, minerals, spices, sage, pine, anise, menthol, tobacco & a hint of oak/vanilla in the background. Medium-full bodied with a good concentration of balanced & smooth textured, ripe fruit flavors of dark cherries, blackberries & plums with cocoa, dried herbs, spices, minerals & a bit of oak/vanilla. Lingering finish. Drinks quite …

Popped and poured. The 2018 pours a deep ruby/purple with near opaque core; medium+ viscosity with significant staining of the tears. On the nose, the wine is developing with ripe blue fruits like ripping open a fresh pack of Fig Newtons. Herbal with some vanilla and baking spices. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium tannins and medium acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is medium. Drink now through 2028.

Bought a case on recommendation. Glad I did. Fine tannins with a smooth, round feel. Can pick out the Mayacamas influence. Looking forward to seeing how it develops.

Wine was gifted to me in 2015/2016, bought in San Francisco and cellared since then. Upon opening, tasted a sip and didn’t much like it: all fruit and alcohol. But, I left it for 3 hours and it improved significantly, the fruit was still there but the nose and mouth were both more leathery and complex. It became much more of a classic cab sav that I was expecting. I drink most wine over two days unless entertaining, and on …

Over two days, alongside the 2016 Sénéjac and Labégorce. This wine, while modernly styled, features notably more substance than either of the Bordeaux. As such, it served as an excellent benchmark in evaluating those wines. Notably pure on the first day, unmasked by oak, judiciously extracted, non-jammy, and reasonably integrated alcohol. The wine showed more fruit on the second day, bordering on berry liqueur, while retaining its structure and overall balance. Delicious!

Decanted one hour and served at 68oF. Deep ruby with garnet on the meniscus. Medium+ intensity nose of blackcurrant, vanilla, with more subtle notes of tobacco leaf and bell pepper. Pronounced intensity flavors of black currant and vanilla, full bodied with med+ alcohol but silky and well balanced with med acidity well balanced with med, well balanced tannins. Delicious and drinking well now; can be held a few years doubt it will get better.

Decanted for two hours. Served slightly chilled. Garnet red initially upon pouring into the carafe, deep violet when exposed to air. Dark fruits, violets, fig and cassis on the nose. Cherry, blue fruits, cranberry, dark chocolate and raspberry flavors were predominate with layers of baking spice, white pepper and cinnamon intertwined. A medium full mouthfeel led to a balanced, refined and elegant texture followed by a silky smooth finish. A wonderful expression of Alexander Valley fruit produced during a challenging …

Larkmead Battle + 1 . Followed the RM and Larkmead as a pop-n-pour so with difficult comparisons. That said held up pretty well and was a solid wine. Not remembering the details other than it didn't have the bay leaf / herbal nose I've had with Stonestreet cabs in the past.

As fans of Alexander Valley cab we were excited to try Stonestreet. On pop & pour the nose disclosed very little aroma and only slowly opened up just a little. Dark purple in the glass. On the palate we found dark fruit and oak, but the overall taste experience was very dull and uninteresting. Mild tannins with just a bit of acidity and a short finish. Didn’t improve the next day or the next as others here reported. One of …

Great fruit, überdelicious even, and very jammy, immediately so and confirmed on the palate, which is defined by soft texture, even though - as you chill the wine slightly - the structure appears and it is way beyond say for example an entry level duckhorn merlot, it has a fresh core and the fruit and oak to last a while, and I wonder if this would not be better in ten years time? Some varietal character, there is some black …

Vinturied into a decanter for 90 minutes then served using the vinturi. Medium ruby red in colour; bright nose of dark red berries, some blackberries, sweet mocha, and some cassis. The palate's getting some red jammy fruits, cherries, blackberries, and some hints of cedar. Medium bodied with a medium finish; a tad dry at the end. This is a very well made cab and can be drank now given enough time in the decanter.
