Traditional blend of Malvasia and Trebbiano that's allowed to dry 5 months on reed mats ,then aged a full 6 years prior to release. Full, rich and gently lifted, this lingers satisfyingly on the palate. A wine with soul. recommended https://www.ItalianWine.blog

Tuscan Flight (SF Wine Trading Company) : Bright light ruby. Nose of cherries and spice. Medium weight, lush, cocoa and herb. Some acidity. Modern style with a very woody finish.

Medium colored center. Aromas of cherry and crushed oregano. Medium weight, harmonious feel. Strong acidity, crisp licorice edge, a touch of coffee from wood and soil finish. Very good for the price, and although modern in style, less overpowered by the oak treatment than other wines in this tasting.

Blind at store: Ruby garnet med concentration; black cherry, dried currant, apple, cured spices, clay, crushed rock, tomato leaf, thyme, sage, animal fur; med bod, rounder, tart cherry, sour, searing acidity, dry tobacco, baked earth. medium but very dry tannins. Rustic but has it's charm. Guessed basic chianti 2010.

Tasted with a cold so likely missed some subtleties. A medley of dark and red cherries on the nose with some raisins and dried fruit. Really comes alive on the palate with cherries, plums and some darker fruits. Good splash of acidity to counter-balance the alcohol on the palate and finish.
