Sunday Night Burgundy without Baseball (Bar Parisette - Chicago IL) : Tasted blind. Fun and easy mostly black fruit, ripe but easily well balanced and composed, just slightly non-descript in expressing terroir. Very surprised when unveiled, I expected something more styled from this producer, and its frankly cleaner than I would have thought.

PnP Early maturity. Mostly red fruit with a bit of spice and sous bois. Integrated and unobtrusive oak. Generous acidity, allowing it to pair well with our Korean inspired food. Didn't evolve much over the 2+hr dinner.

Brilliant red, with just a hint of brick at the edge. Nose is mostly red fruit and loam. Very food friendly, but a bit dry for stand alone drinking. Flavors explode on the palate. Medium finish. Overall, quite enjoyable

Brought this (blinded) to a mid-week session. PnP'ed (but I let it breathe ~30-mins in bottle before pouring, whilst enjoying a '11 Bernard Bonin Charmes that our host kindly served), we drank this side-by-side, juxtaposed it against the '09 H. PnP'ed, this was "on-fire" from the get-go! Nose was a "very-giving" potpourri of scents, from dark-red cherries to violets to hawthorns (this would've a good ringer for a Vosne had this session not been theme'd CdB wines). This still impresses after all these while... Popped just around ~15mins prior to a Zoom session (Pommard theme'd, hosted by Kwine & Nicolas Rossignol), and decanted into a Voss bottle. Stinky compost for a couple hours - unpleasantly so. It mainly cleared up overnight. Fruit is sufficient n the palate and tannin is subdued, nonetheless the impression is ungenerous. Perhaps the next bottle will be better.

Paired with the '93 Vogue Musigny, this more than held its ground, with much more aromatics and purity on the nose & palate respectively. Violets, roses, red-berries, plus whiffs of classy oak... this was more impressive on the palate, with so much purity of fruit - velvety red-fruits with so much freshness, dancing across the palate. Mid Life Crisis Dinner : Slight oak i feel but very good density and expressive nose. Light on the palate with good weight. Was kind of surprise this was a Gaunoux perhaps due to the riper vintage.

Very good on day one; even better on day two. Purity of fruit, and an extremely long finish are the hallmarks of this wine, with a solid supporting structure, leading to a long like ahead of it. Bravo!

Really nice showing, even if too young, it let off some classic and defined red burg aromatics of anise, and red fruits. Stands out for its elegance and concentrated red fruit extract, and lively freshness. Good moderate to full tannins with a medium plus finish. Excellent wine. Red Burgs (Wayzata, MN) : Dark red color. 45 min decant, 2oz pour over an hour. Dried earth, floral, violets, hint of stems, vanilla, brooding dark fruit. Soon to be labeled as the more prestigious "Rugiens Bas" versus just Rugiens. This wine is so smooth with restrained power and real grace - lovely intensity and sophisticated complexity. The finish is quite distinguished.
