Domaine Jean Monnier & Fils Meursault

Bought in Meursault at the shop of the vineyard at the marketplace, had a very good time there - visit it, buy a lot of wine and taste it. Why buying? There are quite a lot tourists that want to drink a couple of glasses but buy nothing or only a few bottles: bad manners (and I do not talk about Ska music :) ) N. I chilled this wine in the fridge for 15 mins before serving. Very creamy and buttery nose with some toast/caramel, wet paper and lemon zest aromas at the open. There is also some floral aroma. Very attractive and complex nose. Also very creamy palate with mid palate of grapefruit flesh, followed by long and nice mineral aftertaste. A very good meursault for the hot summer. +5+12.5+16.5+8=92pts

A little flabby and too much oak for a white burg. Even though this was on sale I'm not getting any more.

(Tasted Blind) Pear and strawberry nose. Not all that buttery or oaky, but with time floral notes came through which reminded me of detergent. Notable alcohol on the finish (I was shocked that on reveal this was only 12.5%!)

Fresh wine with a lot of citrus tones. Medium length and good structure.
