Dominique Laurent Pommard 1er Cru Vieilles Vignes

Powerful on the nose with red cherries, strawberries, a bit of oak, riper fruit flavors, and violets. The acidity is quite high and there is good tannic structure and flavors of red berries and cherries on the palate. Finish is quite long and lingers. A really nice wine that's ripe and has oak influence but overall feels balanced.

True Grand Cru material here. Very dark in appearance. Rich notes of mature strawberry, sour shade tobacco and good length.

Beautiful right now. Rounded, full bodied. Plush black and red fruit.

A round up of notes from november and december; 10/31/2009-1/2/2010 : Dark red. Typical 05/laurent nose that seems more syrah than pinot with (cool) blackberries. Spicy palate and plenty of oak, but retains poise and freshness. A pleasure to drink.
