Accessed via Coravin for Lunar New Year with a built-in “splash decant.” On the nose, the wine expressed sour cherries, blueberry, and slight floral hint in finish. Upon a sip, this is polished with light-medium body. Tasting bright fruit with a hint of oak-derived sweetness. High acid, mouth watering, reminiscent of a grape jolly rancher. Ample tannins become apparent mid palate with a moderate finish of baking spice and cocoa. Slight, pleasant bitterness remains on the back of the tongue. …
