Weingut Keller Riesling Kabinett "Limestone" Goldkapsel

Opened at Noble Rot Mayfair. Coravined and enjoyed. No score given as this is just way too young for a Keller GG. Incredible tension and bursting with energy but not giving anything aromatically apart from some hints of petrol. Forget about these and revisit in 8+ years time would be my recommendation - I am excited to see how these evolve.

Loved this! Exotic teas, citrus zest, baking spices, some orchard fruits and stones on the nose, broad yet focused palate with loads of fruit and bright lingering acidity, long finish. Will open my others hopefully in 2035+

Weingut Keller Oberer Hubacker GG 2023 is a dry Riesling from the original, monopole parcel of the Hubacker vineyard in Rheinhessen. It opens with aromas of lemon, jasmine, pomelo, and smoky herbs. The palate is concentrated yet elegant, showing vibrant acidity, fine tannins, and a saline, citrus-driven finish. German white wine from Rheinhessen: Riesling. 8,5 % alcohol. AP number #06 24. 750 ml bottle. Decanted and stored in the decanter during the evening. Pale grayish/golden color. Fresh, crisp and delicate aromas of candied lime fruit, stone dust, green apple, yogurt, white flowers and minerals. Powerful, intense and crisp flavors of candied lime fruit, Granny Smith, crushed stones, crushed grape seeds, yogurt, nectarine, white flowers, smoke and minerals. Off-dry. Medium body. High acidity. Appearance Light lemon/green in the core to watery edge, slightly sparkling Nose Lightly fruity, lime, green apple, gooseberry, slightly floral, white flowers, smoky, Palette Drinking, grapey, gooseberry, lime, white peach, green salivating apple. Light elderberry, mineral, elderberry. Flint. High driving acidity. Conclusion The wine is obviously young but in a good drinking phase. No aeration.

Honeymelon & crisp Apples! Fantastic!

Out of disposable clear plastic at a party. Light sweetness, high acid, tropical fruits, pineapple, mango, citrus, lemon zest, grapefruit. Of all the wines in the Kabinett, you’ll want to reach for this one frequently. Will have to try again out of a real glass, but this is truly wonderful stuff for the $30ish range.

a potent melange of desiccated pomacious fruit, star fruit and ripe tropical fruit with some flowers, some herbs some and some rubber balloon. This is my first Keller, and although young, I can understand the appeal of Keller: voluptuous, complex nose a structure that seems chiseled out of Mosel slate (yes, I realize that Keller is in Rheinhessen) and such a pleasant energy on the long finish. 93+ (where + equals potential for future score increase with additional bottle age.)

There was more residual sugar on this one than expected. A bit frizzante upon opening. Lemon meringue attack.

Flickinger Tasting at The Casino (Chicago, IL) : A really good edition of this, though I haven't tasted the feinherb version of this from the vintage. Shows excellent cut and expressive fruit. Pleasant green herbs, and an overall pretty chewy texture.

A bit sweeter than the 21 von Der Fels we had -- nice texture, another great sipper

Hot day with lamb snags = perfect occasion to drink this wine. It's almost fizzy in that way kabi's can be. Occasion aside and putting on the critical cap, this wine is pretty average (being a bit harsh, it is absolutely quaffable, like a Sprite soda). This vintage wasn't as lime-zesty or sweet as a previous I've had (something from 2020+). It had the classic Keller acidic zing at lightyear speed, which really dominates most everything else in this wine. …

I liked this bottle better than the tasting sample we tasted at the winery in the spring - more depth and finesse. The clear, fragrant and beguiling nose is characterised by a bright, multi-layered and medium-intense herbal aroma, which enters into a playful liaison with the fresh notes of various citrus fruits.
