Time to change the stereotypes of Chinese wine. The likes of Changyu and Greatwall were basically undrinkable, but this was a really pleasant surprise. Dark ruby color. Medium nose of ripe black fruits, oak, hint of spice (and some green notes unfortunately). Dry, rounded acidity, chocolate tannins, medium deep taste of blackcurrant, black cherry, cedar, chocolate (again some green notes). Medium deep body and finish. Good balance. Tastes like a good, albeit cautiously made, New World cab blend.
