Highly enjoyable! Nose benefits from bottle being open for a while (just 30 min makes real difference), evolves very nicely. High typicity, some burnt rubber, but mostly fruit, citrus, green apple, tropical fruits, all good. Palate is very fresh, green apple, some citrusy fruits, stony minerals and a hint of spritz, especially when just opened. Possibly you can trace some residual sweetness as well, but only a trace. Previous bottle (June 2019) was very enjoyable, but by now has taken …

High typicity. Whiff of petroleum on the nose. Crisp acidity, well balanced against fresh fruits. Fully dry. What I am looking for in a good Riesling. Excellent qpr. To me in a good place right now.

A sunny, merry with wine day at my Hometown! (Paulinenplatz, Millerntor, Sierichstraße) : A first Riesling at high noon, balanced, fresh tasty yellow fruit, a good Ortswein, now on top, **- +?, 86-88

This is a beautiful wine that displays richness, concentration and complexity. It is a real gem. It is starting to develop secondary, almost tertiary, flavors now and has gained a lot of sophistication since early 2015 when I first tried this wine. A. Christmann is organic and biodynamic. The purity of flavor, richness and weight here is unlike a lot of other 2010 rieslings I have tasked from Pfalz. It is also unlike other vintages I have tried of this …

Lots of minerality again, rather chalky as well as transparent, intense fruit. Very vibrant on the palate - again mineral and fresh, quite punchy. Very long. 92-93+

Yet another example of how seriously good Riesling was made in Germany 2010. I love that this wine is multifaceted - fruit is almost tropical, but mixed with ripe citrus. And the tropical fruit doesn't come across as sweet thanks to a electrifying acidity and a chalk-like minerality. I serve it to friends as an aperitif and the wine is gone in no-time. One of the best grades a bottle of wine can get. Wonderful now, will hold for several …

Smell: pineapple and slight honey. Taste: pineapple, wet rocks, hint of caramel, limes. Great flavour concentration and length.

Fabulous nose with ripe citrus zests, honey, sage, rosemary and chalky limestone. Very intense on the palate with impressive concentration of ripe fruit, and downright electric acidity enforced by a powerful mineral and herbal core. Power and elegance at the same time! In our opinion the best version so far - no doubt GG quality - the Ölberg is another great german '10 that drinks extremely well with shorter airing and some italian dried sausage. Even better after a night …

Characteristic of a Riesling. Fruity with Lots of acids, this wine could and should rest a couple of years. Some bitter skin/stem flavours which reduces the rating. Not better than Christmanns standard riesling but maybe more intresting.

The nose really implies sweetness with notes of lime, sun-dried peaches and melissa. Taste is absolutely dry with some bitterness. Lots of character. Guess this one will age beatifully.

Nose - Sourly fruity. Pineapple, apple, minerals. Subtle and elegant. Taste - Pleasant acids filling up the whole mouth. Especially at the back of the tongue. The acids carries fruity tastes similar to the nose. Elegant minerality from the soil. As the wine became warmer the nose became sweeter. Still very dry in taste though. More of everything compared to Christmanns gutswein Riesling. Lots of character from the Ölberg.

Peaches and pineapples on the nose, which kind of makes you anticipate some sweetness. But the taste is bone dry, yet tropical and luscious.

Rieslings and Pinots - Impromptu Dinner at Brad's (Brad's Place) : I enjoyed this very much - a very good trocken at this level, and certainly miles better than the super-acidic Gimmeldinger Biengarten from the same vintage. This had a very nice nose as well - minerally scents of talcum power, chalk and stony ran alongside pure white fruit, apples and a touch of peachiness, all ringed with a lovely halo of white flowers. Certainly fruity, but rather more subtly …
