Very consistent with my last bottle. Lovely rich baked apple upfront with a touch of spice, melting into the lemon finish. Perfect now, and for the next couple of years at least.

Barolo @ Noizé (Noizé, London) : Broader than previous bottles. Could do with a bit of line , cut and general definition. Picks up a bit with air but an intermediate bottle of this lacking energy and pizzaz. ***1/2

Ooh yes, a clear step up from a previous bottle six years ago. The dosage now integrated, this is beautifully balance with line and shape. Harmonious. Good energy. Really good. ****

Rich, creamy, baked apples, some lemon freshness, gentle bubbles, beautifully balanced right now.

Amongst the great lineup of tasting various champagnes this was the one that really did it for me. I thought it would be super acidic due to English climate but less acidic than I thought and to my surprise very well put together with fine mousse, richness from the fruit, and judicious dosage. Drank this among champagne lovers and this one was one of the crowd favorites by far.

WisconnSomm Sommer Camp. This wine stole the show for oyster night wine. Hama Hama oyster company for the win! Really bright aromas, fresh, and taut. Great tension. Lovely lemony fruit. Nice length. Really enjoyable. I would hold this if you want more enjoyment outta this. Delicious. Very fine. +++

Wow - what a way to kick off the evening. My first time having this and it was flat out gorgeous and drinking absolutely beautifully. Fine bubbles, perfect mousse, sexy pinot depth with a kiss of Chardonnay. Just about a perfect Champagne I was going to say. Seriously a sparkling wine that can be named a champagne killer. I preferred this to a Krug NV 165 that followed this, just by a hair's breadth. Although I felt while the Tillington …

Wraysbury Dinner (R/Y/B/A) (Home) : Pale straw. Initially quite taut and lean, but over 30mins or so this opens up and broadens. Reasonably rich with dosage quite apparent. Good line and finish. Promising. Probably needs a little while for the dosage to integrate fully. ****

Tasted single blind. Krug vintage vs Nyetimber Tillington. Appearance is clear, pale intensity, lemon colour. Legs. Big but fast fading bubbles. Nose is clean, medium intensity, with aromas of zesty citrus lemon, white flowers, chalky stones minerality. Developing. On the palate, dry, high acidity, medium- alcohol (12%), medium body. Medium+ flavour intensirty, with flavours of soft citrus lemon curd, soft white peaches, chalky stones minerality, sour green apples and citrus lime with more air. Long finish. Very good quality. Elegant …

Nyetimber night (Chicago, IL) : The last time I had this, I don't think I revisited it with air, which was my mistake. This needs air to show well. At first, it is a very sharp and tense mineral concoction, with plenty of acidity and minerality, and a bit of a steely austerity that makes this the least approachable of the wines on the table. But air certainly fleshes this wine out, until it starts showing some more brioche elements, …

Dinner at The Bristol (Chicago, IL) : I think this is the first bottle of English wine I've ever had. It's a good one. There is definitely a kinship to the region to which we're naturally going to compare this with, but there are some unique elements as well. This isn't as dry as I'd have expected, but the touch of sweet white fruit adds a good bit of interest here. For me, this could use a lot more crisp …
