Wine Crawl 12: Verdejo, Verdelho and California Pinot Noir (San Francisco) : Very funky nose with some rubber tire, which took 30-45 minutes to blow off. Aromatic, tropical nose with a rich mouthfeel. This has better acid and freshness than the other wines in the flight and is easier to drink for it. My 1/3, group's 1/3. Tasted blind.

Honey, apples and citrus on the nose. Excellent and pronounced acidity well balanced by ripe fruit. Medium-full on the palate coats your mouth beautifully and medium limey/grapefruity finish. It seemed like an exotic Sauvignon Blanc on steroids. Great bottle, paired it with tilapia in caper/shallot/wine sauce and it was wonderful.

Loads of green apples and lime here, so intense it is almost painful, with some minerality and lime flowers at the edges. The fruit comes across as very crisp and lean on the palate, a little creamy, finishing with more tart green apples and lime. If this sounds like your thing (and it's not really mine), you may rate it higher. Excellent with food.
