Lots of fruit on the noise, cherry, black cherry and perhaps a bit of raspberry? On the palete cherry and black berry, leather, oak and medium to light tannins. Balanced, medium to long finish. I’ll hold my second bottle for another 2 years.

I generally enjoy Tolosa’s pinots, especially Stone Lion and Pacific Wind and some of the single vineyards like Apex. This 1172 release I found to have muted fruit upfront and a medium to short finish. Not a great nose either. Not as good, in my opinion as a lot of their other offerings.
