Domaine Truchot-Martin Bourgogne

Opened at the POB Gala Dinner in HK. Afterparty wine, and what a treat! Blew my expectations away - not much green from the vintage at all and still fresh, vibrant and showing off a lovely range of red fruit. Won't hold up too much longer, but was really fun to try and shows what Truchot can deliver when you are lucky enough to have a perfect bottle. Thanks to Gang for sharing and can't wait to return the favour!

PopnPour, tasted over 4 hrs -semi-translucent light red/blood/rust -aromatic stewed cherry/tomato, beetroot, slight '04 vegetal -med+ acidity gives it great lift, light weight but medium concentration, some cherry remnants, earth, herbal, minimal tannins, moderately long finish, picks up weight and intenstity with air -sadly my last bottle, remarkably complex for a Bourgogne, really a brilliant wine for the vintage and level, consistent notes with 3 bottles over the past 4 years with expected maturation, WIN!

Dinner at Marc's (Marc's House - Bellingham, WA) : This was easily the best Bourgogne rouge I've ever had. Indelible density of flavor with the weight of a feather. Incredible red fruit notes, underbrush, and mushrooms. Complete package from a Bourgogne.

Pretty herbal, relatively balanced though. Elegant, as usual. Showing a bit of alcohol though. I don't think this is going to get any better than it is.

Appearance: Clear, medium lemon color. Nose: Clean. Fully developed apple & pear. Palate: Medium dry, Medium-low acidity, no tannins, medium acidity, Medium-light bodied, medium low intensity apple, pear. medium short finish. Drink very soon. Acceptable quality.

Elegant nose, balanced wine. Very impressive for Bourgogne level. Recommended

Opened a Truchot Bourgogne and while the herbalness was not as evident and overwhelmingly distracting as it was on the Truchot MSD ac, it was very present to me. Surprisingly, the palate didn't show the green too much, so the wine was pretty enjoyable overall...In fact, seemed to be at peak...I really enjoyed this much more than the '05 version I had a few days before...it was just more ready...Nose alone - blind - I would have thought it was …

Pale, pinkish burgundy, Earthy nose with black cherries. Medium bodied, bright black cherry and earth with tart acid. Fabulous wine for the money. Flavorful, well balanced, long slightly tart finish.

very light color, rose petal. interesting high toned smells of cranberries and cherries, and a clean red fruit palate. Simple stuff though, and did not hold up well after 2 hours, never mind overnight. would not rebuy

Very light color, strawberry almost, but balanced wines. I think needs some time, and it was better the next day. Sit on this one. The nice thing about Truchot is that you don't get beat up.
