Beautiful bottle of wine. Big but not overwhelming, no hard edges, mature fruit, long finish.

At a Rhone Ringers blind tasting with the unlucky job of following a perfect California syrah, this stood out for sweet red licorice flavors and simplicity. Notably didn't have any of the pomegranate and spice one hopes for from this grape.

Dark red. Ripe red fruit and tire shop. Ripe berry and licorice flavours and a quite tannic finish. Modern.

Raspberry liquor with pencil lead, earthy minerals, and a whiff of flowers. Dark ripe fruits, with dusty tannins, a suave mouthfeel, and a long, herbaceous, bitter finish. The pencil lead and herbal notes are unusually elevated for a priorato. Still youthful for a twenty-year-old wine. Very nice for a second picking bottling. This bottle could have gone at least another handful of years, but it appears to be at peak maturity today.

Deep ruby. Restrained nose of thyme, bramble and a bit of soil. I had two. I drank the last bottle in about 2014. It was drinking well then, and it’s drinking well now and probably could go another 5 years at least. Zero fruit on the nose but in the mouth dark berry balances the herbal undertones. Long finish, somewhat bitter and tannic but energetic and pleasant. Northern rhone feel to this one. Some nod to the new world style …

This bottle was markedly better than my last about a year ago. This was what I was hoping for to go with a lighter meal. Red fruited and lively from its acidity. There was some subtle earthiness and had a bright finish. Nice!

this is so good. ...aromas of blackberry, plum, spice, cedar, leather, graphite. palate pops with some lively tart red fruit. some earthy and mineral flavours too as well as a pleasant subtle sweetness. very nice acidity and tannin through mid palate and finish respectively. everything seems to be in perfect balance. lovely long finish.

I had 13 bottles, initially rated it 94; 2 left as of July 2020; Very nice and low, low price for a Priorato; had 2005 at Picasso restaurant in Vegas Jan 09, was good but not as good as this 04; 9th July 2010 was outstanding with fruit, mint and spice on nose, mouth and long finish; 4th to last Nov '18, good aged fruits, very nice; 3rd to last July 2020, more mature, very balanced, perhaps a step simpler …

Pretty and tasty bottle. Very little structure left. Dark fruit with earthiness. Not going to get better. Quaffer. Drink up.

Absolutely gorgeous bottle. Still quite a bit of tannin but the fruit is very strong- this seems very well balanced. Might even improve with a few more years, but nothing wrong with drinking it now.

It was a crowd pleaser, but it is past it's prime. Time to drink up any in storage.

This continues to be one of my all-time great values. Lovely marriage of fruit and mineral, deeply spicy. Opened for someone with a nascent interest in wine and I think it made an impression.

Drinking beautifully with an hour of air. Full nose has dried dark fruits, herbs, tar and some dark chocolate. Palate is full bodied with good chunky black fruit and still gritty tannin. Drinks well and with a lot of poise for a fairly full bodied wine. In a peak window now.

Big, funky Priorat with very deep opaque color. Pretty rustic with lots of dark fruit flavors. Goes well with a steak and full flavored sauce.

WCC Priorat Blind Tasting (Salty's Pub & Bistro, Clifton Park, NY) : Smoky, red fruit nose. Rich, young, tart tannic. Needs some time.

Our friend bought this wine while working as a chef in a swish restaurant in a place where only the guests can afford to enjoy. This was one of his ventures in to Spanish wine. A blend of 65% Grenache, 20% Carignan, 5% Syrah, 5% Merlot and 5% Cabernet Sauvignon from Priorat...wow, the winemaker really must have had a strategy of some sorts! Dark, squid ink purple. What is behind the door? Rough perfume of black currant and over-ripe raspberry, …

A bit rough initially, but smoothed out over the course of and hour into a very enjoyable wine. Had it with family and BBQ'd burgers and it was a great accompaniment to both.

Rating based on pop and pour over a couple hours; two days later under vac-u-vin I didn't expect much, but it was very soft and fruity -- unexpected 91-point delight after that waiting period.

New Years Eve Celebration (Rocknroller's (Kevin & Vicki's Place)) : Very dark purple red color. splash decant and 5hr slow-O. Followed 1 glass over 90 minutes. The nose was pleasant up front, had some nice black fruit, charcoal, chewy and savory in character, graphite, but somewhat sharp and angular. Was better initially and showed too much wood and heat in the finish.

Red ink color, loads of flavor and depth and easily a few years to peak but drinking nicely now. Blueberry, dark red persimmon and currant with a flinty mineral tinge. If this is their best wine reject, I have got to go for the best.

Big and somewhat rustic wine that probably won't improve much. Two hours air helped. Decent length and concentration but a bit monolithic in flavors.
