Disappointingly simple, but definitely an easy drink with some flavor. Some licorice and Italian earthy notes, but acidity was dead and it mostly left me hanging.

Brief Tour if Italy (Denver) : The first wine of the night I tried. It was velvety, polished, easy drinking but not terribly complex. An very well made wine, delicious and good in its own way, but didn't have unique characteristics that stood. Very good

Decanted for an hour. Deep dark ruby color, rich fruit and earthy. Very enjoyable Barbera with good balance and a smooth lengthy finish. Food friendly and drinking well now, but don't expect this to improve much with additional cellaring.

On the nose, I found blackberry jam, orange zest, green stems and toasty vanilla but showing a little heat. The palate came across as rich, jammy and a bit one dimensional with black and blue fruits and herbal tea leaf. The finish continued to show the heat in this wine as it left a bit of blackberry fruit but little else.

Beautiful wine. Briefly decanted; probably should have been longer. Huge fruity nose on initial pop; some sediment. After 30 minutes, luscious dark berries, cola, and some fennel. Velvet mouthfeel with a hint of tannin after the second glass. No heat. Lengthy finish; 30+ seconds. Wish I had more than one left. Paired excellently with greek lamb & beef.

Bit of disagreement on this one with those I shared it with. I quite enjoyed it. Nose of ripe fruits, cocoa and some oak which quickly blew off. On the palate, oak, chocolate, and red berry fruits. Somewhat dry finish.

Finally a non-flawed bottle. After being blown away by this a couple of years back the last two bottles were corked. This one didn't disappoint though. Just smoooooth with nice vanilla, light oak, and cherry. Creamy and delicious we popped, poured, and just went through the bottle quickly. Looking forward to the remaining ones. It's drinking extremely well right now.

Very impressed with this collaboration of some of the great Barbara producers. A very deep, rich, lush, powerful and beautifully integrated wine. Very satisfying on many levels. After an hour decant you notice the bouquet is wonderful and ask yourself if it will taste as good as it smells. It does.
