Forman, Chardonnay, Napa Valley

Couldn’t keep my hands off this, my second bottle this month, but this time it aired overnight in the opened bottle. The air only served to make the wine even more pretty than I remember, and really allowed the wine to strut its very complex nose. I won’t give a numerical score to this bottle since I just rated it earlier this month; suffice to say this bottle was at least as impressive as the last—especially the bouquet.

This is Chardonnay as I like it, and at the regular $55 winery price, a great value in California Chardonnay. Creamy nose, citrus palate, excellent balance of acidity and fruit, precise, clean. Excellent length, so refreshing. You never get tired of it. The nose is outstanding, complex and exotic, rivaling a Grand Cru Burgundy. 4-14-16–9: 93/100.

Just arrived, popped and poured, pretty white gold hue w/light green inflections. Expressive nose immediately off the pop, think ripe apple slices, lifted florals, hints of meter lemon and a subtle flintiness. Lush mouthfeel, well-balanced acidity, slightly racy even. On the palate, the flavors are a perfect reflection of the nose and really show off the best qualities found in CA Chardonnay, especially in terms of beautiful texture. A lovely Chardonnay, aged sur lie without malo. Shows tangerine, vanilla, tropical fruits with a nice leesy structure. Medium on the opulence scale, this is a true blend of French nuance balanced with restrained CA oomph.

Opening nicely already. Lemony cream, a little white pepper, slightly warm, good weight.

Crisp, clean, good balance of acid & fruit. Very enjoyable. Will buy more
