This bottle had a very intact cork and opened with great promise which it fulfilled. I never would have thought this wine is 23 years old. Fruity, medium tannins, great purple color without aging. Fruit, vanilla, some oak, cedar. Matched well with a rich and flavorful beef stew. After 45 minutes open it seemed fully developed but evolved for several hours. Brown tinge in an intense red, berry, vanilla, fruit balanced with soft tannins at opening. Pleasant smell. This wine goes very nicely with the pot roast (cooked with rhubarb and raisins), rice and wilted spinach dinner. It has held up well. After 90 minutes the wine has opened with lush smell of berries and vanilla. The taste is thinner and acidic but it goes well with my after-dinner chocolate. A great experience for a 23 year old Oregon Pinot Noir. …

Cork came out in great shape and the bottle appeared to be alive. Lot's of savory notes on the nose- green olives, meats, smoke,wet soil, dirty diaper, very subtle fruit of plums and cranberry. Fruit is just about kaput on this one and all that's left are some woody notes, smoke,a little spice,and tons of acidity on the palate. Not undrinkable but mostly acid and wood.
