Dark ruby, looks unfiltered. Aromatics medium at best. Cherry syrup, slightly medicinal quality with some earth background and subtle violets. No new oak Palate has a medium + body. Acid medium to medium +. Tannins medium +, medium grained on the teeth/gums still with some astringency. Alcohol medium +. Red plums, some stem notes. Fruit is still ripe Finish has a medium length. Balanced with a bitter finish. Overall a reasonably nice Dolcetto with characteristic bitter finish. I had to …

Quite youthful with ample red and black fruit, cherry, strawberry, blackberry, ink, licorice, tar, dark spices and earth. Very good concentration, generous red and black fruit, bright acidity, earthy mineral, and a medium to long generous red and black fruit driven finish. I believe this is a recent release. Quite youthful and no need to hurry.

Enjoying this library release. It's now in a nice place. It has mellowed and has some tertiary notes, yet still a good acidic streak and fine-grained tannins. I think we drink good Dolcetto, particularly Dogliani, too young and this tasting confirms that impression.

Pop and poured. This is lovely right now, and drinking better than the bottle I had last year (which I did not note). This guy offers nice aroma of a mash of blackberries and plums, pleasing soil, clove, and that lovely impression of Piedmont earth. The texture on the palate is very very lovely for a Dolcetto. Quite smooth and caressing. If you hold it in the mouth the tannins do still build intensely. It's more enjoyable with just a …

Clear deep garnet with very slight rim browning. Brandy, ball plum, braised fennel. Low acids, low tannins. Leather. Short balanced finish. Bottle at Del Posto.

This bottle was a little more ready to drink after another year of bottle time. I definitely recommend decanting this one, because right out of the bottle, it is still to tight and a it harsh. I still can't say this is like any Dolcetto I've ever had (my favorite is Scavino). I probably would not buy this again because the style is weird and little off-putting.

Way brighter and fresher than the prior bottle. Lighter than expected given the other notes, thought this was medium bodied with fresh red cherry fruit. Good acidity and a fine balance for a mid-week red.

Better than the last bottle, fresh with tasty dry red and black fruits, with firm acidity. Decent long finish and nice balance. Good food wine, last glass without food, not so enjoyable. Overall, pretty fine.

My first bottle tasted several years ago I questioned this wine. Maybe a defective bottle. Since then, every bottle has been very nice. I would definitely buy this again.

Didn't really understand this wine. Dense, sturdy, and too ripe, almost chocolatey. Too much alcohol on nose and finish. Didn't get the bright minerality that Galloni and others find. Pass.

Not sure how to rate. It was not what I was looking for with a Dolcetto. I think of Dolcettos as lighter table wines meant to be drunk on the younger side possessing pretty florals and fruit with a touch of earth and minerality. This was like Dolcetto on steroids. A lot of people are saying it's just too young, but to me it tastes like it has been pumped up for a New World, bombastic style. I will definitely …

Upon opening and waiting about 30 minutes wine was fizzy. The fizz lessened but was still there a couple of hours later ( am not a fan of wine that has effervesence). Only sipped one glass. Did not vino vac as I would typically do as I was hoping the fizz would be gone by the next evening and it was. wine was much more enjoyable, the flavors developed and it was less tannic after the first 24. It was …

You know, this is a complicated puzzle. On first pour there is this beautiful rich deep purple but the nose is closed as tight as can be. After twenty minutes it starts to open, I'm getting earth, prunes, some grape jelly. Ok, fine. Highly aromatic. It's like all this garden stuff blossoms into a cloud of spice box. A million things happening. Oh good. On first taste, that stuff is there but really rather austere. The future of this wine …

This bottle is a little more evolved than the last two, and a very good everyday drinker. Straight forward table red with enough character to lend to braised meat and slightly spicey dishes. Muted nose showing slate and dark fruit. The palette is full of dark fruit with some spice and wood notes. Full bodied yet smooth texture. Decent finish with cherry and loam. 6-17-8-8

Quite similar to the previous bottle. Juicy and approachable weeknight wine. Plum and sweet cherry. Medium+ body with a smooth texture and a slightly more substancial finish. A very good food wine that will complement a dish and not seek the spot light whatsoever. 6-17-7-8

A decent example of Dolcetto. The nose wasn't all that expressive, but pleasant none the less with plum and hints of licorice. The palette was mild and exceedingly approachable with some earthiness to compliment the slightly spiced red fruit. There was some decent depth, but I expected a little more acidity. A bit thin on the finish, but a fun wine none the less. This is a perfect pairing with traditional street tacos or a mild molé sauce. 7-17-6-7

I have this sense that I am not a Dolcetto kind of guy. This wine was well-reviewed and the TNs from others are more positive than my experience. Moreover, I have not been too impressed by other Dolcettos. Not everyone is the same. Noting this, the wine was much better on Day 3 (drank half, let the rest sit). Wish I could say more, Not inspired to. Oh well.

PNP from horizontal in the cellar to drink with grilled chicken. This is a very rich and full Dolcetto with dark fruit flavors leaning as much black as red. Very pretty wine and light enough, as desired, yet full bodied. This has years to go. Nice wine and easy to drink

this was very good - birght and juicy - not too dark or intense - maybe was expecting a little more - but tart cherry and raspberry fruit was a good foil to ravioli with fresh tomato sauce.

Really closed right now. At first opening, there is little fruit, quite a bit of tannin, hot, and overall hard to access. After quite a bit of air, the tannins smooth out and some dark fruit emerges, but still a closed off bottle. This must need a few years to get through a tough period, unless it's just not going to do much more. No score.
