Decanted two hours. The first thing that comes to mind about the nose is black coal, freshly cracked black pepper - but not overly spicy - and liqueured fruit. Black prunes, highly extracted, big and rich. This isn't a bashful wine. Fruit forward showing gobs of lush thick viscous berries and dark bitter cinnamon and tar. Purple purple purple shows on the back end. Almost like grape flavored Kool-Aid but not in an artificial sense. Finish isn't nearly as rich …

Feeling a touch charred on the nose, with sweet black fruits behind. On the palate, it comes across as being rather international , but before you can form much of an opinion, huge, very firm tannins take over entirely.

España Tasting (Wine Exchange. Orange, CA) : Dark purple and very leggy. Smells of alcohol, beef and wood. Interesting grape smell (Jolly Rancher hard candy). Concentrated with big tannins. Needs time to integrate. Complex and powerful. Length of 25+ secs. Nice oak.

Four-plus hour decant. Rich berry, spicy oak, and hot alcohol on the nose. Behind it all is a hint of stone and tobacco leaf. None of it is properly integrated yet. The palate is just as young, disjointed, but not quite as hot, and with more red fruit and tobacco. 85 now, but at least an 89, potentially. Looking forward to trying from the bottle tomorrow.
