Deep dark center, red/pink rim with minimal signs of age. Sweet, creamy, pipe briar, a little spicy, leafy. Smooth, tobacco, roasted plums and raspberries, good acidity still, touch of rich tomato sauce, intense, great fruit driven finish. Wonderful Caravina, drinking well now on day 2 (a touch leafy on day 1), body to keep going for 5+ years.

Final of 6 bottles...waited 3.5 yrs since last one. Enjoyed with grilled, med-rare bone-in ribeyes this evening, and was a nice paring. Black fruited, almost tart and held-back, with espresso grounds, anise, a touch of mint, and minerality/soil. The wine is still holding up nicely at 12 yrs of age, as I have come to expect from this House. Gorgeously integrated finish with nicely supportive acidity. The freshness is a bit lacking, but I am being critical...really liked this Cab …

Popped and poured; enjoyed over two days. Best on Day 1. The 2011 “Caravina” pours a deep, we’re going to call opaque, garnet with some slight browning towards the rim. There appear to be signs of very light sediment. Medium viscosity and medium staining of the tears. On the nose, cassis, tobacco, bell pepper and the faint smell of baking spices. On the palate, the wine is dry and notes from the nose are confirmed. Medium tannin and medium acid. …

Very mellow and velvety smooth, although perhaps lacking a bit of depth as compared to say the 2015 Carravina, which I love. Silky and a bit of gravel. A fine wine. I would agree with other reviewers who wrote that now is the time to finish this off.

Last of the CT summer with Cat. Was good, at its prime or a touch beyond.

Dark opaque red, hints of eucalyptus, and heat evident in the nose. A bit muddy, and not the integrated and pleasing wine I remembered. perhaps past its prime? Tart and hot on the finish. Disappointing, and I’m glad this is a singlet we found in a discount bin 8? Years ago.

Black raspberry, forest floor, cigar box, cassis, white pepper, dried herbs, violets. Medium-full body. Went well with steak. Wouldn’t expect it to improve but no rush either.

Tasted in a vertical with the 2010 and 2012. Raspberry, red current, tobacco, leather, violets. Medium-plus body. Delicate for a cab. Drink now or in the next 2-4 years. My favorite of the 3.

Lots of blackberry, great balance between acidity and soft but present tannins. Sweet, but not jammy or over-extracted. I think it’s at peak but should remain there for several more years.

Great cassis, black plums and a little ash. More acid than tannin. Has several more years.

Deep dark center, red rim with very modest signs of age. Sweet briar, chocolate covered cherries, leafy. Acidity up front, bright red cherries, smokey, some silky smoothness, some cassis, nice length, good fruity finish. Excellent Caravina, thought this would only last a few years, I was wrong, this has significant acidity and will last and improve over the next 5+ years.

Direct from the winery. Popped and poured; consumed over several hours. The bouquet was tart red fruits and tobacco...plus, there was a rather fascinating aroma of braised beef...like an awesome stew with veggies and the whole bit. It was all very nice actually! On the palate, a combination of dark and red fruits; think slightly under-ripened blackberries and red currants. As time went on, it became more red fruited in profile. A little thin and a touch green which is …

Bottle 5 of 7. Last bottle was 1 yr ago. Blackberry pie, anise, mocha, tea, and wet rocks. The tannins are rounded and chewy, supported by medium acidity and a long and black-fruited finish. This is a delicious Napa Cab, fairly good value at $50 USD, drink now through 2022+.

Beautiful nose is loaded with cassis, blackberry, eucalyptus and bell pepper notes. Very classic. Layered palate with black fruit, mocha, loamy earth and grilled herb notes. Finished with rounded tannins and dried black fruit notes. Another really well made 2011 Napa. What a great value in Napa Cab!

soft red fruit on nose, ripe raspberry, dried clay, oak not prevalant but im sure there in a heavy dose. tart on palate. Doesn't seem like Napa, I'm sure due to vintage. Not that great, too bad because I like Seavy.
