this shows the madame can deliver from off vintages and any terroir. The wine has hallmark spice filled black cherry and still a bit of that velvety fruit. I'd drink up now.

Twelfth Annual White Truffle Dinner (Chez Weber - Chicago IL) : Served to me blind, I thought it much younger Burgundy and a higher level wine. Powerful black fruit with spice hints, some rustic edges, but overall good density and length.

Mature nose with a load of Spices, cocoa, dried herbs, iron mineral, nuts and some faint raspberries. Certainly lacks freshness and smells old Burgundy. But no soy tones, thank god. Rather fullish, dry tannic palate. Nice animal notes, some forest floor. Sour red berries. Dry and little astringent finish detracts. No chance for us to come any longer than it was an old burgundy. Actually we thought it older.
