Chateau La Haye, Saint-Estephe

Parfümierte Nase, florale Noten, Kräuterwürze, Tee; kerniger Gaumen, noch wild, mit etwas wenig Druck im mittleren Gaumen, jedoch mit guter Balance, endet dezent trocknend. Im Jahrgangskontext gelungen.

Definitely dry on the finish. I could feel the acid at my jaw. I think it needs age. We had this in a tasting on a cruise with the San Francisco Wine School. There were others we liked better, but they were right bank that didn't need as much age. My wife was undecided on this one.

Already a treat to taste, the wine is sweet, fresh, fruity, spice and offers hints of chocolate and herbs in the savory, spicy, energetic finish. Drink from 2023-2036.

90 vvPunkte (14%, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, verkostet im Dezember 2021 in Windisch). Kühles, rauchiges, steiniges St-Estèphe Bouquet, dunkle Beerenfrucht, kühler Rauch, ein herbstlicher Duft. Im Gaumen gradlinig, fruchtig, klar und rein, gut strukturiert, mit Rasse und Energie, die Gerbstoffe sind fein verwoben, stützen die knackige Frucht, noch ungestüm und jugendlich, jedoch mit sehr schöner Balance. Langer, feinwürziger, rotfruchtiger Abgang. Wer diesem Wein etwas Zeit gibt dürfte in 4-6 Jahren belohnt werden. Hat sich seit der Primeur-Verkostung verbessert. 2025-2035+. vvWine.ch

Medium-bodied, forward and already drinkable, the wine is soft, round, polished and delivers an easy to like core of ripe, red fruits, spice and a touch of herbs in the finish. This should be fine to enjoy on release. 89-91 Pts

Not much fruit left, but the nose is interesting. The oak is very well recognisable and nicely integrated. Medium acidity and softened tannins are nicely balanced. Finish is good but not very special. I’m not sure how much longer this can age. Drink now.

Decanted for five hours. Nose has cedar and cigar box. Similar flavours on the palate but also some red fruit. Balanced and nice. Medium finish with just a hint of vanilla at the very end. Drinking nicely now, but no rush.

In de neus: sigarenkistjes, kersen en bessenfruit. Zwarte bessen, kersen, licht drogende taninnes, mooie balans. Lekker middelange afdronk
