Random wines tasted during service (Oinoscent) : blind tasted, 30' decant Quite ruby in the middle. The nose is strong, earthy, whole spice, dark fruit, dried fruit but there is also freshness. Palate again showing evolution, dried black fruit, same spice profile, dry tannins, med to full body, acidity, mienral, some herbal notes, med finish. Called this Garnacha or Tempranillo

Our only blind bottle for today's lunch. Super happy that I guessed this was old world and from Spain! The giveaway? That super & awesome perfume nose but initially disjointed palate. Fremragende Ribera del Duero. Lækker åben næse med solbær, solmodne brombær, blå blommer og mørke kirsebær. Dernæst sød tahitivanilie, lakrids og sort peber. I munden er vinen kraftig og tanninrig, men absolut drinkable bl.a. fordi syren holder vinen fint sammen. Lækker mørke bær, lidt tørret frugt samt chokolade, ristede kaffebønner og en god del peber. Popped and poured. Dark purple colour. On the nose; primary blue fruit, floral perfume, spices and a dash of vanilla-toffee. On the palate; generous and concentrated, yet superbly balanced and refreshingly light footed. Still on the young side, but I don’t think there's a lot to be gained by letting it rest for more than a year or two. A very good Ribera for the price!

Although only February, already a contender for my fave wine for the price for the year. Cherry in colour and a nose giving black fruits, and vanilla form the oak used to mature the wine. Very fresh taste, and far more balanced than most tempranillo's at this price range, like velvet on the tongue, with a long aftertaste wanting more.... Will definitely be stocking up on this one....
