(JM's Lamb Plov) Fine, silky nose. Dark inky, concentrated in glass, opaque. Effusive dark florals, sweet tobacco, cedar box, eucalypt on nose. Layered sweet wood spices, seductive, young supple leather, fresh black earth, with a tinge of chinese herbs, red earth and mint. Drinking very well, easy power but lifted elegance. Long and minty finish, with more resinous undergrowth and eucalypt.Yum!

[decanted 6+ hours] Dark berries, sour cherry, rich savoury leather, undergrowth, black earth, cassis with lush woodspices, lifted with exotic dark florals. Certainly well resolved tannins at this stage, integrated peppers and menthol, but still going strong, likely another decade. Initial blush of rust, integrating with time with wood/christmas spices and dark florals. Dang-gui [angelica root] on the finish. This has balance, power, finesse and everything I like about a Coonawarra! Developing beautifully through the travel from Syd to Sg …

(Coonawarra Brunner@Adel's w Alex et al) [vertical with 1993] Rich powerful nose, showing juicy dark plums, ripe blackcurrants, along with ash and pitch. Still rather fine tannins, sweet and cleanly structured, this wine was beautifully intense and focused, finishing fine and long with menthols and elegant toasted peppers. Lovely clarity too! Impressive and beautifully matured - possibly approaching peak drinking now, and may improve further over the next 5 years.
