Pop and pour at my daughter’s birthday party. A complete surprise with its smoothness and balance. Showing beautifully with a polished, seamless profile. Stellar wine, though the value is questionable at $1,200 paid and shipped directly from the winery.

A Drive on Spring Mountain : Dark red in color and full in body, the wine offers settled aromas of black cherry, milk chocolate, and pencil lead. The flavors are integrated and rich, with notes of blueberry, espresso, and peppercorn, followed by a settled and round finish. 14.9% alcohol. 93+ at the moment, but I’d drink in the next few years. Decant about an hour.

Winorama: A winter in Wineland II; 1/6/2018-1/14/2018 (Portland, Eureka, Napa) : Tasted at the winery. Perhaps the biggest point is how young this still is. Clearly lost some baby fat and pulled together more, but at the same time it's on the upswing. Bit of potpourri in the glass, darker fruits. Very powerful wine with a strong structure to it. Kept getting better and better (prob drank over course of an hour).

Second bottle and still amazing. I feel like it has gotten better than my last taste 5 yrs ago. Paired with filet mignon with peppercorn sauce. Synergy between tannins, oak and fruit. A picture of what Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon is meant to be. Cassis, fig, and slight cream finish. Wish I had more....

Saturated black cherry color. Nose opens with eucalyptus along with a ripe peach and plum compote/tart on a baking crust. With 2 hours of air the nose opens to rich dark berry with licorice dominating. Rich palate of dark berries, ripe plum on the mid-palate and through finish, coca and tree root appear on long moth watering finish. Big wine for sure but still a real wine versus being overly extracted. Powerful on the pour but reveals nuance with air.

I was blown away by this wine. Tasted after a flight of Cardinale, and this was the star. Velvety tannins, complex flavors with highlights of anise, cherries and cream.

Dark purple crimson with a somewhat shy nose smelling creme de cassis and a bit of red spice. Full body with juicy tannins. A well balanced display of fruit exist. Plum, cherry, anise, some soil and a long finish. This wine is a bit shallow and rather simple but well made and very tasty indeed.
