WSET Level 3; 11/3/2019-2/3/2020 (San Diego, CA) : Second time tasted with consistent notes as before. Some pronounced bubblegum/banana aromas to go with the aged gamey, mushroom, earthy and strawberry, cherry, watermelon, grapey fruit and floral, mineral aromas and flavors. This probably sees a bit of carbonic maceration.

WSET Level 2; 8/20/2019-10/15/2019 (Leoness Cellars, Temecula, CA) : Pale ruby; There is a pleasing candied watermelon, strawberry fruit that seems to play well with the wine's earthy, musty and floral aromas. And there is even a touch of cheese rind in the nose. Kinda wild! The juicy acids don't overwhelm the light mouthfeel and provide some degree of balance to the palate. A simple finish with cherry licorice, herbs and roast.

Darker stewed fruit. Very food friendly but darker brooding wine.

Very nice wine. Ben's comment is right on.

Loads of spice on the nose. Fresh and lively fruit. THey are apart of this really funny spiderweb family that includes Blain Gagnard and other Gagnards. A cute little family tree with all of them in Beaujolais.
