Bought three magnums at auction after a friend recommended the wine. Does not seem to be overly popular among collectors and I got a reasonably good deal. Opened and decanted for about an hour. At first I thought it was a rather non-descriptive Napa cab but it continued to add weight and depth throughout the evening. A well-made, enjoyable wine but not memorable. Releases price seems totally out of sync with reality.

Really good. Depth, tannins, richness, nice oak, and a little Bordeaux. My only bottle. They did an excellent job with this wine and it needs 2-5 yrs to reach perfect. I like it now. I’d buy this again.

Napa trip day 7 : Drank a glass over 1 hour at the winery. The nose has dried herbs and underbrush. The palate is incredibly plush and rich. There are lingering fine tannins with a touch of alcohol. Modern in style, but they're trying. There's a little acid that personally seems insufficient for long term aging. We shall see. The winery spokeswoman claims this will age for up to 15 years.

Napa trip day 7 : This was generously poured for us as a bonus while we visited the winery. Leaner and more tannic than their other wines, perfumed, needs time, likely ages great. Floral and much more expressive with air and warmth. 92-93

Epic Napa Trip - Day 7 : Tasted at the winery - This was my favorite wine of the tasting (along with their Cab Franc). Nose showed lots of dark fruit with pencil shavings and cigar box notes with hints of earth and oak. Palate was even more expressive with plenty of plum and other purple fruit, lavender, spice and bramble, giving way to some chocolate, tobacco and earth notes wrapped in dark and blue fruit. A nice kaleidoscope of …
