Cos Sicilia Syre

Für mein Empfinden hat der Wein hier (wahrscheinlich schon vor geraumer Zeit) sein Trinkfenster verlassen und nicht mehr viel mit den ursprünglichen Aromen gemein. Der Wein zeigt deutliche Noten von Oxidation.

Ruby colour - very intriguing and intense red berry nose, some spices as well. On the palate a lively acidity balanced by great red fruit, grainy tannins - big perfume on the aftertaste, great finish with quite a lot happening from oriental spices to leather and cranberries. Excellent wine, very typical, would stand out on any wine tasting as an autochthonous wine of its own. One of my favourites at the moment.

Medium deep ruby colour, Very narrow rim. Complex developing nose with ripe fruit, cherry but also plum, coffe and figs, also botanic notes - herbs. Nose of a warm climate wine which has aged in large fooders rather than barrique. Palate is smooth, velvety textured, sweet with black fruit and licorice.
