We opened this tonight and it had lost the aspects that we loved previously.

An exceptional wine, not yet showing its age. Blackberries, leather, violets, and raw hazelnut on the nose. An unctuous wine with vibrant acidity and pillowsoft tannins. More blackberries on the palate, dark cherry, and spice.

Drank from magnum at Thanksgiving dinner. PNP into decanter. Bit closed off nose at first, opened up a bit with air, but still a bit more muted than I would have liked. Fruit core is still there, though I think it’s time to drink if you still have bottles. Elegant, balanced. No noticeable tanning, low acid. Slightly bricking at edges. Good, but lacking some of the secondary aromas and mid-palate density.

I think the drinking window for this one is a little off saying the end was 2019. Had two of these at Thanksgiving dinner and after an hour of air in the decanter, they were singing and still going strong. Probably have at least 3-4 years as well.

Hard to rate, it started out fabulous, lots of funk mixed with the fruit. It became disjointed after a couple hours due to age. Drink up…

Dark cherry, raspberry, a bit of spice and forest floor. Silky, balanced, and still fresh. Drinking great now with a nice finish. Classic Oregon Pinot with polish.

Now at 17 years and it is better than ever. Appears to be at peek presence. Deep garnet, full bodied, still plenty of fruit, deep red berry notes, spice and pebble. There is enough acid present providing a long finish. Domaine Serene never disappoints.

Rich, dark and broad-shouldered Willamette PN from a renowned producer, wine was aged for 16 months in FR oak, 60% new. Medium ruby colour. Medium+ intensity aroma of blackberries, vanilla, cherries, chocolate, cola, smoke, hints of coffee and cassis. Full body, juicy, concentrated and powerful structure with black fruit, chocolate and licorice flavours smoky and spice notes, medium acidity, mellow tannins. Great but rather huge PN, I prefer a bit leaner, lively and elegant Oregon PN’s.

Despite the color being very light, it is a very concentrated wine. Lots of power. Strawberry, vanilla, warm spice, some red berries. It tastes slightly hot, not overripe, but it has a strong feel of alcohol not only on the nose but on the palate, maybe the storage issue? Overall it is a very nice wine, but it just scored slightly below my expectations.

Medium dark red with a 5mm bricked edge. PNP, split bottle over 3 hours plus. Dried leaves, oregano, sous bois, subtle tobacco and red cherry at the outset on the nose. The palate showed dried cherry, white pepper, red currants, tobacco spice and underbrush with dusty tannins. My initial impression was that this had crested and the fruit was now fading. This made an about face after around 40 minutes to where the fruit really came out and became much …

Beautifully aged wine. Color between garnet and brick. No fruit on nose at all. Leater, tobacco, slight wood on nose. Forest floor flavors with a light body and cocoa on the back palate. Clear. Short finish.

Pop and pour, drank half the bottle over 2 hours. The fruit has faded a bit, and there is a lot of structure left. If a pinot can be full-bodied, this is it. There are secondary flavors of tobacco and leather, lots of interest and intensity. The finish is long. Just a touch over the hill compared to bottles a few years ago, but it still has a lot going for it. I'll drink my last bottle in a year.

This bottle seems to be at the end of its rope, a raw finish is the culprit. Slight raisining in color and on the nose. I’ve had a lot of bottle variation..weird. And have 6 nore to plow thru. Still a ok for weeknights at this point. Drink now is my advice .

Best new world pinot I've ever had. I bought 6 of these and drank 3 of them before this one. Dayum! I smell barnyard in this one. I'll be waiting for while, but not a long while, to drink the other two. I see the ratings for this have been trending up. I can understand that.

Served with beef bourguignon Popped and poured 15 minutes in glass before tasting Nose is outstanding, floral, heavy roses, cinnamon (?) notes, really quite nice Palate is silky smooth, dense but light as a feather, really quite a beautiful wine. If I’m being critical it has a slight heaviness on the finish but that is being too critical. I enjoyed it and would buy again.

I suspect that age may bring out more of this. As it is, it’s a quite enjoyable Pinot with nice red berry fruitiness and a touch of tartness to balance its mild sweetness. But there’s not a lot of depth to be had at the moment. Enjoy now as a simple Oregon Pinot expression—a perfectly reasonable choice!—or hold to see what else it might become.

Pnp tonight. Paired with grilled salmon. Mild bricking. No sed, no decant. Soft roundness to this aged Pinot. Minerality, red fruits on nose palate. Food friendly. No flaws. Good frond to back enjoyment. Evolved thru night. Nice wine that has held up well. Looking forward to my 2010s.

This wine was amazing in it's youth and young adult life. Had a couple of bottles in the last 2-3 years that were disappointing, but this, my last 2008, was quite spectacular. Plumby rubber tires, almost rotten strawberries, and darker black fruit on the nose. Dark black fruit, dense fall leaves on a Northern California walk, titch of dark chocolate, and overall rather chewy on the palate. Really nice wine that should probably be enjoyed over the next couple years.

Still has plenty of staying power. Had along side an '04 which was actually showing better (more integration) and it even has some good life left (it was cellared well). I will give my remaining bottles at least a few years. Perhaps lacking a bit in character but no flaws. Considering where the '04 was, perhaps there is more to come from this wine.

I had high hopes for this wine but, as Gertrude Stein famously said: “There is no there, there”. The great things I read in both professional and crowd reviews were not present in this wine. It was a functionally correct representation of OR Pinot Noir with all the common components the same way a Toyota Corolla has similar components to a Lexus, except the Corolla is basic transpo and the Lexus is what you want to drive. I wanted to …
