Christmas dinner with friends and family. Roast filet beef as the main. Very dark and serious looking. The nose is of red fruits but blackcurrants on the palate. Very smooth. Nice mouthfeel. Good length. Went very well with food. It's peaking now and maybe it's the magnum but this will go another 5 years.

A smoky, slightly charred oak (like being in an oak forest) and engine oil character emerges that inveigles its way into the palate. A juicy and approachable entry with rich bilberries and blackcurrants, smoky oak notes, and a firm, dense tannin structure. A little bipolar, this wine seems to work better …

Consistent with previous note - this really is good value in the current market.

Good vintage for this wine getting an extra mark for qpr.
