Ca Del Bosco, Franciacorta, Cuvee Annamaria Clementi

Very interesting nose that clearly shows some age with notes of citrus, ginger, lemon, hay, and minerals. Good acidity on the palate with a plush yet lifted mouthfeel, more lemon and brioche flavors. Long finish. I liked this quite a bit more than the last bottle that was opened about a year ago. Excellent aged Franciacorta.

Lots of fruit on the nose with quite yeasty notes, pear, minerals, lemon zest, and green apple. Creamy texture on the palate with good acidity, flavors of lemon, brioche, rich fruit, apple, and a bit of riper tones. Good finish. Nice wine, although a bit reach and yeasty at the moment. Maybe this needs time. It also felt surprisingly sweet for a zero dosage wine. 92+

Wine festival by Tryffelsvinet. Very good given Italy’s reputation for sparkling - not even remotely comparable to the shit called Prosecco. Still miles from the big league but their top cuvées really start competing!

Apple, lightly oxidative notes, citrus, toast, and brioche with quite a bit of richness on the nose. Medium acidity with lemon and citrus notes, green apple, autolytic character and well balanced although generally riper and richer fruit flavors. Good finish. Interesting wine that could have used a tad more acidity to balance the richness, but still enjoyable.

Brought to a large group gathering. Sourced locally to have something sparkling from Italy. Solidly above the other Italian sparklers that were passed around. Definitely get that extra brut sharpness. Flavor wise lemon, pear, with lots of mineral backbone and crushed rock. Simple way of putting this: I would buy again.

Balanced and fruity, nice acidity and minerals. No bread/brioche notes here so less complex than a champagne. Still very good. Aperitif

salted lemon, lemon custard. more fruit notes than biscuit, and more mineral than fruit. On the palate, light extract. the mineral is more quartz than limestone. palate is more yellow and fruit than anything brown and toasty/yeasty.

Just delightful. hints of creaminess without the carbonated overtones. Crisp, light not overly dry. Fantastic alternative to prosecco The wine looks straw colored. It tastes like eucalyptus and cut green grass. The body is light. The wine has fleshy texture. The wine has low acidity.

right after a bottle of AYALA, probably a matter of taste preference, I prefer crisp high acidity and not too creamy, which this one is. Tasted blind, would likely guessed champagne, a well made and very good bottle but not my style.

Fait de Chardonnay, Pinot noir et Pinot blanc. Le prix m'a fait sursauter quand j'ai su mais c'est vraiment superbe, à l'aveugle, ça vaut un Champagne d'exception et le prix est presque justifiable! Nez complexe et assez intense, sur les poires, les abricots, la brioche et le miel. En bouche, super vineux et précis, crêmeux avec des citrons, de la poire, de la pâte à biscuit et un peu de levures. Vraiment long et voluptueux, excellent.

2017 Villa d’Este Wine Symposium - Kelly and Kevin's excellent adventure; 11/9/2017-11/14/2017 (Villa D’este, Lake Como and Milan) : En magnum, medium expressive nose displaying rich ripe yellow fruit, baked apple, brioche, honey, sweet spices and mineral. Very good concentration, generous medium size mousse, good acidity and a medium to long decadent yellow fruit driven finish. Really enjoyable.

Nice mineral feel on palate, round, good ripe notes and just drinks superbly now. Very bright too. A solid 93. As we say this is the best "champagne" made outside of champagne.

Have we had this blind we would have struggled not to say its Champagne! This is a beautiful wine, and will give any vintage champagne a run for its money. Rich, yeasty, good ripe fruit and worthy of the super cuvée status and price. Definitely with its 80€ price tag. Very good to have now and with lots of ageing capacity. 93-94

Nice color. The nose shows toast, nuts, dried apricot, and minerals. This is fairly light bodied on the palate, with very good concentration and wonderful class. The long finish shows plenty of acidity.

A private lunch (Osteria Francescana ***, Modena, Italy) : Wonderful finesse and intensity, much more tightly wound, fresh and mineral than the Giulio Ferrari 2001 tasted yesterday, citrus (lemon and a hint of tangerine) and flowers, clean and precise, energetic, as fresh as a daisy at 9 years old, lovely length.

Medium yellow color. Fine bubbles. Dry, but not absolutely, with just a hint of soft sweetness that is quite nice. Good acidity. Bread, pear and flower notes on nose and palate. Very, very good wine in a champagne style, but different. The longer aging versus the regular cuvée really shows, and adds complexity without heaviness. I could drink a lot of this.

TN: Quintarelli, Dal Forno, Bussola, Caprai, Bea ++ : This was singing. Light gold. Tiny bubbles. The nose is clean with some baking soda notes. Slightly sweet on the palate. Clean. Complex with a long finish. Very food friendly. Not cheap but stands up to most large house Champagnes in this price range.
