Tropical fruit notes with cinnamon and spices from the well integrated wood. An amazing feat to make a Chardonnay that is still going strong at age twelve. Great depth and texture. This one wasn’t nearly as big as the one I had last month. Good juice.

If this was an athlete, it would be Serena Williams. Broad shoulders and a Chardonnay loaded with power and depth. Tropical fruit is accented by strong oak and cinnamon notes. While is oak is very present at age eleven, it is nicely done. Even if it is more than I typically fancy. Aromatically pleasing. There is enough acidity to keep this wine going for another five to seven years. If you like big chards, this has to be near the …

Wow, amazing tropical fruit notes and a surprisingly lovely 30 second finish with wonderful complexity and depth. The minerality was nice, though the acidity was a bit lacking for all the depth thus offered. Paired beautifully with an Alaskan king crab. Last of the half case for us, and this was perhaps even nicer despite the slight lack of acidity. Yum.

2019 New Years Day Tasting (Milton, GA) : Brighter banana yellow in color; butter, dense, poached pear, lemon, bananas foster, vanilla, lots of extraction and richness, subtle green herbs, yogurt; vanilla cream, a bit soft in acid given the huge scale of this; given those qualities this has to be domestic, I liked this more than others.

Golden color and a huge nose of tropical fruit and vanilla. Mouth coating fruit and caramel flavor with a long long finish. At peak now and definitely drinking great.

A bit oaky but very nice yellow honeyed fruit that lingers. Good though not my favorite style.

Annual Chicago winos visit - Dugat Py Chambertins, DRC RSVs, SQN and etc. (The Grill Room at Capella Hotel Georgetown) : While unfair to put this alongside Coche-Dury, this is a stellar Sonoma Chardonnay. Baked apple aromas and flavors that almost evoke thoughts of a gingerbread crust. Lush, while retaining excellent balance and restraint.

Wine Dinner Extravaganza (Capella Hotel Dining Room - Washington DC) : Large-scaled, fat fruit aromas and flavors. Ripe apple, some baked apple, then hints of baking spice, but with enough structure to maintain good balance throughout. Good length as well.

Pale gold. Nose was middle aged, less fruits more spices. Taste was coating, mouthfilling, touch oily, rich. Delish in a challenging year for Cali Chards.

At Fringale in SF, lone Calif wine for the evening among some great French wines Medium to deep gold color. Nose was citrus, white flowers, toast/ mild oak. Palate has a rich mouthfeel, with similar notes to nose with peaches, spice, lemon curd. Elegant wine, drinks beautifully now and will have a good trajectory. One of the best from Peter Michael, their most expensive white (I believe)

Bright, deep lemon-gold color, some cloudiness. Alluring and complex nose of toast, very ripe pineapple, white flowers, cardamom. On the palate, the bitter alcohol is more prominent than I noticed in the previous bottle, with heat blotting out much of the underlying quality. Terrific acidity promises a long life ahead, but now I have some doubts about the balance here.

This is loaded with pine, ginger, spice, mint, sweet green apples, white peach and a nuttiness that all works together and continues on through a long finish.

Light golden color Beautiful and explosive nose, white floweres, perfume, passion fruits Great zingy acidity, fresh, medium body, good minerality. Didn't seem to deliver the quality from the nose. Long finish 93+

CT Wisconsin Offline 2; 10/5/2012-10/6/2012 (Madison, WI) : Medium-deep lemon color. Incredible nose, complex and everchanging, generous, rich. On the palate, a lovely slight oiliness, perfect balance, rich yet light, elegant and classy. Slight heat on the medium-long finish. Great chardonnay, I wrongly guessed grand cru Burgundy. Tasted blind. Group #1 of 8, my #1 of 8.

Certainly a very nice bottle of wine. Loads of flavors that burst out of the glass. A big wine. And here is the conundrum - I prefer the lighter, softer versions of whites at PMW. This is a huge Cali Chard. Still not the oak bomb that most big Cali Chards are but this does not remind me of light, elegant burgandy white. Closer to a Kistler in my view. Still, the wine is refined and in spite of its …

Top one or two California Chardonnays we have had. Burgundian style and elegance. Should sell the house and buy a few more bottles.
