This seemed too young and in an odd place. Lots of quality but not the best tasting of this wine

This bottle is closed for business and needs another 5 years at least to shine, the material is there. Both the nose and palate have so much in reserve. I had great 08, 11, 12 and 13 from gdm that were fully ready. This is potentially greater when everything falls into place. I should try the 09 again as well

This wine is drinking so nicely right now. There is no sign of old age. Even the cork was nicely fresh and came out smoothly, but with a lot of effort with my good cork screw. It is fully integrated and tastes much like the wines that grow on the general area of Rasteau with the Grenache showing off right now. We really like this wine. It has great mouthfeel, purity, and complexity.

Hard to find much fault with this 2010! Delicious at PNP and still excellent 2-1/2 days later after recorking in the fridge. Full bodied, almost black, loads of blackberries, with a somewhat waxy mid-palate. Really silky. Dark, almost black ruby. Still very fruity with cherries and blackberries. Lots of balsamic notes as well. Very present tannin make me believe this will improve for some more years. Delicious!

Steadily improving, the 2010 GdM is a deeply colored wine in a supple, rich style. After many years of rather muted bottles, this one is more open. The nose shows brambly mulberries and forest loam, sage, beeswax, with a lovely sweet aroma of Chambord Liqueur that comes and goes. The fruit is ripe and rich, but tannins and acidity hold the ripeness in check, long balanced finish.

Monthly Tasting Group EEE #067: Southern Rhone; Cairanne and Rasteau (By PV) : In the bouquet still a lot of primary cherries, dark and red berries, chocolate, yoghurt, tea and sweet licorice root. On the palate a lot of garrigue, autumn forest, leather, beautiful acidity and sweetness. Overall a full bodied and harmonious wine with a good concentration and length. 92 - 93+

I have been enthusiastic about this wine having had the pleasure of many outstanding bottles over the past few years. Frustratingly however there has been some bottle variation having had 3 bottles this past few years which I felt did not deliver anywhere near the pleasure of earlier bottles. I have had the opportunity of tasting Jerome Bressy's Gourt de Mautens 2010 on several occasions and at every tasting the wine has really wowed me. A wine very much in need of decanting. The 2010 GdM is dark and powerful, with a nose centered on creme de cassis liqueur and oaky / resin aromas. With air, the oak fades and the wine takes on more complex caramel and garrigue notes, and the creme de cassis fruit lightens towards dried cherries. Rich and flavorful, a powerful wine, alcohol a bit high.

Funky. Green. Earthy in a bad way. Odd. Nothing compromised with the bottle just really not my style. Jeb gave it a 95? First bottle I've really disagreed with him on. Pass. QPR is not great. $80? Glad I only paid for a taste. Not poorly made, just weird for me.

The 2010 Gourt is very dark, almost black-ruby, with a nose of concentrated griotte cherries, licorice and white chocolate. The wine is a tiny bit too intense for my taste, with ripe fruit and firm acidity, but pretty high alcohol and a slight bitterness on the back end of the palate. Should loosen up with a few years in the cellar, but then will drink best young... I would consume from 2017-2020

Here we go again, a nose out of this world - seriously, first class C9dP often lack this intensity in their youth - full of thyme, rosemary, unripe olives and masses of ripe dark berries. The nose showed focused dark fruits with pretty floral tones and black pepper in a slightly restrained display. Massive textures bullied the palate, kept in check by vibrant waves of acidity. Blackberry and herbs danced across the senses in this refined and elegant effort. Why the IGP instead of the Vacluse designation? Big and spicy and lots of structure. And hey oh, its $80! Its really good, but really, $80? Its delicious, shows some oak tannin, massive, not sure if I am missing something here.
