Fattoria Montellori Vin Santo del Chianti

Sherry-like in its complexity and elegance. Med gold, with an intense nose of bitter orange zest, apricot, caramel, hazelnut, almonds, toast, honey and Christmas spices. The palate is medium sweet, nicely offset by medium (+) acidity, with a slight bitterness on the finish. The alcohol is high at 15.5% but nicely integrated. This is a really clean, fresh, spicy Vin Santo which could easily age another 5-10 years.
