Domaine Chanson Pernand-Vergelesses 1er Cru En Caradeux Blanc

Tasted Pierre Morey Cotes D'Or Bourgogne Blanc, Chanson Pere & Fils Pernand Vergelesses En Caradeux Blanc 1 cru. and Marc Colin Chassagne Montrachet Village. All 2019 Pierre Morey has an extremely high acidity and is the wine with the lowest concentration/richness but still an excellent bottle. Chanson is the opposite, lower acidity and very rich (a little too much for my taste). Marc Colin was the best wine - acidity and concentration/richness level in between the two

Always so predictable and reliable. An excellent alternative to the much less affordable (albeit extraordinary)Corton Charlemagne.

Focused nose: white fruit (pear) with a citrus edge and a rather charming fruity and floral perfume, showing some candied touches, and a hint of smoke. There is a creaminess to the fruit on the palate which exemplifies the ripeness, but it is rather more about the structure: fairly tightly-wound, this shows some malic elements and a super mineral intensity. It feels sapid and grippy, and there is some delicious toasty oak on the finish. Classy stuff.
