Amazing, 16 years old and going strong. Gout de petrol, honeysuckle/caramelized apricots. Balanced sweetness with well integrated acidity. From 0.375 ml bottle, will hold easily for another 5 years.

Out of a 375. Yellow gold colored, with orange blossom and honeysuckle on the nose. On the palate petrol, stoniness, honey, peach and apricot. Full bodied with a long finish, was great with granny smith apples and an assortment of cheeses, along with some pate and duck rillette. Wonderful. Could last another lifetime.

Still very much in the zone. Sweetness is fading, and I love it.

Nose of light petrol and stone. Beautiful palate with lime and peach. Fine tuned balance of sweet and acid. Graceful and focused. Really stunning.

Certainly a good Mosel auslese with peach and pineapple tastes, a little grapefruit, sufficient acidity and an amazing vivdity reflected by a little bubbles in the first glass. But if it justifies all the hype around aj adam, as with all his other wines, i dont think so. Most ratings come from people who are not used to drink a good sweet wine too often. AJ Adams best remains his piesporter with Haart and boh that location and that producer …

Chicagoer Rieslingfeier (Chicago, IL) : #03-09. Certainly on the dry end of the Kabinett spectrum, this has tons of slatey minerality and just a hint of white fruits. There's some pronounced pineapple here, this seems to be just a little bit advanced (I didn't get to this until later in the evening and it had warmed up some), since it didn't seem to have quite as much tension as I expected. It's certainly got tons of acidity, but that white …

A rocky, babbling brook of ripe stone fruits, petrol, lanolin and tart citrus, summer flowers along the banks. Broad and generous without being heavy. Flat-out delicious and an absolute steal.

Holley cow this was nice. White flowers / fruit. Perfect balance and a long, sweet finish. I could drink a bottle of this by myself. Will only get better. (95+)

Not as much acidity as if hoped for from an 08. Just a touch flabby and short on the finish. Also a little sweet - seemed like Spatlese+ to me.

A proper fruit salad nose on this one. Different sorts of fruits so ripe that they are practically melting into a juice. Lush green apple blended with sour, almost salty citrus fruit. Some mild honey and not-so-mild chalk also to be found. On the palate very thick but with good focus and high acidity, leading to a dry, mouth-puckering finish. Sweetish, sour and very energetic. Not nearly as stony as many other Kabinetts I enjoy but instead has plenty of …

Schitterend!

Another great bottle of this. Drinking so well right now with a core of ripe Mosel fruit tinged with florality, slate and more exotic gingery notes, incredibly light on its feet yet having remarkable presence and intensity of flavour, and impeccably balanced with gentle sweetness and the bright acids of the vintage making it very easy to drink.

A rich thicker Kab that surprised me when I saw only 7.5% alcohol. Well balanced and mature, rich lime finish.

Completely unlike the last bottle I opened (which was sullen and reductive). This showed bright, crisp fruit and lively finishing acidity. The sweetness is notable, but the acids make everything finish with a dry feeling - inviting the next sip. Good food companion.

Opened for Valentine's dinner and served with Lobster Noodles. Compared to a couple of 03 Donnhoff Spatlese's I had a few days ago, this was sweeter and I found the Donnhoff's a little more elegant. I like this though and it paired well with the food

This is consistently one of the best Kabinetts I've ever had. It's better with a couple years in bottle from vintage. Right now, the 2008 is smoking. Mineral-driven on the soaring nose, with great peach and apricot notes. In the mouth, vibrant and delightful, with tangy fruit and zest acidity. Strong finish. This is magnificent now. A-/A

I sure hope this is just in an awkward phase. Lots of reduction (distinct aroma of burning rubber) and the acid overwhelmed the very minimal fruit. I had been very much looking forward to drinking this, but sadly could not enjoy it one bit. I've had fantastic experiences with Adam's '08 Spatlese and the '08 Feinherb, but this was simply not good. Not sure whether to try another bottle soon or presume it's shut down and let the rest sit …

This was a very bright and light gold color and very clear. The smells were floral and spciy with citrus notes, orange rind, and hints of the chemical smell of gas. The flavor was delicious lemon, lime and pure and precise citrus fruit. The finish was about 30 seconds and very zingy and refreshing.

Still the same impression as the last time - this could have even a bit more acid to balance the sweetness and to be more vibrant. Anyway, a very nice wine, great stuff on a hot picnic.

Saturdays at One - Volume 47 : WIML92-93+/-? Tasted non blind at a wine tasting. Light yellow to perhaps yellow color in the glass, clear looking throughout. Nose of quince, acacia and wet stones. Flavors of orange, lychee, cherry and persimmon. Bright acidity, medium body. Drink over the next 10-12 years plus or minus. Tasted twice with consistent notes.

Germany (Farpointe Cellar) : Floral notes and grapefruit on the nose, and a nice touch of stone at the end. Sweet and floral on the palate, with stone on the mid-palate and a lime finish.

Really wild and exotic to the point that I wondered if there was some Scheurebe in here; a powerhouse of mango, passionfruit and grapefruit accented with floral, honeyed and mineral notes. The power and sweetness here are almost Beerenauslese-like, but there's tremendous acidity that keeps it remarkably light, precise and refreshing. Stunning!
