Nice little Classico from practicing organic vineyards. Doesn’t see any wood, so this is pretty and light, with red cherry and flowers, a ton of soil and mineral character. Slightly bitter, drying finish. At this age, the wine feels like it’s getting a bit tired and fading. Still has some grip though which makes it still a good choice for simple rustic fare at the table. Morel and ham pizza leftovers for me tonight.

Their 2013 Chianti Classico continues to be so fresh and crisp, with Sangiovese tannins that are a little crude but appropriate, and a mouthfeel and weight perhaps more akin to a good Bourgogne. It's delicious with fresh red fruit and a citrussy accent along with telltale floral and balsamic notes. I am really surprised by how fresh this has remained. It's a delicate wine that shows great purity of fruit. Originally published with video at:https://www.simplybetterwines.com/gdpandthepig

Consistent with my note from May. Give this at least an hour to open up, fantastic after 24 hrs.

Another good showing from this. It really struts its stuff after a few hours of air and continues to gain on through the following day. Bright and zesty with some citronella notes riding underneath the dark fruit and some aromatic austerity on the nose, almost herbal in a sense. Really well made and agreeable. Very Good

This is a lovely ripe, Chianti Classico under one condition: Speaking words of wisdom, let it breathe, let it breathe. Off the pour it's downright gnarly and takes a good hour to shake off the grip of abundant tannins and acid. Then it offers attractive sour cherry notes, leathery accents, a streak of stony minerality and a supple though still tannic mouthfeel. Seems like a bit of a throwback-certainly not out to charm you, at least at this stage. Drunk …

I really enjoyed this great example of what chianti classic should be. Of course this is great at the table. The sangiovese fruit is ample with savory herbs. This wine has great balance, and wonderful acidity. This is great!!

Passable Chianti -- nothing remarkable going on here, but decent everyday drinker.
